Founded in August 1938 by the late Fate D. Leebern, Georgia Crown Distributing Company is a family-owned business. First known as Columbus Wine Company Distributors, the company unloaded the first carload of legal liquor in Columbus following the end of Prohibition. Four generations of Leeberns have formed the leadership of Georgia Crown: Fate D. Leebern, Donald Leebern, Sr, Donald M. Leebern, Jr. and Don Leebern Following the death of Fate D. Leebern in 1946, Donald Leebern, Sr. took command until 1957 when Donald M. Leebern, Jr. took over. In September 1987, the fourth generation, Don Leebern joined the company. Don Leebern is the current President of Georgia Crown and Don Leebern, Jr. is the CEO. Georgia Crown Distributing Co. is a full service beverage distributor with wholesale operations in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, selling imported and domestic spirits, wines, beers and specialty products. In 1990, Georgia Crown entered the home and office bottled water business with its new division, Poland Spring Water Distributing Company. One year later, it opened its first bottling plant that produced bottled water from its spring in Dahlonega, Georgia. The home and office water division is now named Melwood Springs, with the bottling facility located in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Georgia Crown's corporate office is located in McDonough, Georgia, centralizing all corporate sales direction, administration, information systems and accounting functions. Centralization of these functions has proven beneficial both to Georgia Crown, its suppliers and customers. For almost 80 years, Georgia Crown has been growing, changing and diversifying. Glazer's Distributors Of Indiana
Based on the northwest side of Indianapolis, Glazer's Distributors of Indiana was a wine and spirits distributor throughout the state of Indiana. Additionally, we distributed Red Bull in Indiana and Kentucky. In 2016, Glazer's merged with Southern Wine & Spirits. In Indiana, operations, sales and admin teams merged in mid-2017. A new facility opened for SGWS in October 2017 on the southwest side of town. In October 1998, Glazer's purchased 50% of Olinger Distributing and co-owned the company until purchasing the remaining half in December 2010. The official renaming process for Olinger began on June 1, 2012. More About Glazer's: The company began in 1909 in Dallas, Texas, where Louis Glazer opened the Jumbo Bottling Company, which distributed a line of flavored soda waters from the back of horse-drawn wagons. Glazer’s Distributors, as the company is known today, was established on Sept. 3, 1933 by Max and Nolan Glazer, two of Louis Glazer’s sons. By 1966, Glazer’s had expanded beyond Texas to three additional states. And our energized growth continues today. Nelson's Green Brier Distillery
The rich history of Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery dates back to 1860 when its founder, Charles Nelson, unveiled a product called Tennessee Whiskey. Nelson’s Green Brier spent nearly 40 years as the premier purveyor of whiskey and spirits in the US. At its peak, Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery produced gallons (about 2 million bottles) of rye whiskey, bourbon, corn whiskey, and other products per year. This was more than 15 times the production capacity of its average competitor. The distillery closed in 1909, when Prohibition became Tennessee state law; a decade before it was enacted nationwide. A century later, Nelson’s great-great-great grandsons, Andy and Charlie Nelson, revived the family business after stumbling upon a historical marker touting the remarkable life and work of their long gone ancestor. Everything in the brothers’ eyes was aimed at resurrecting “The Original Tennessee Whiskey.” Their dream came true in 2019, when bottles of Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey went on sale in Nashville for the first time since 1909. Their efforts meticulously recreating the original 1860 recipe and process paid off. “The Original Tennessee Whiskey” has won countless awards and is now available nationwide and in select international markets. After Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery was acquired by wine and spirits powerhouse, Constellation Brands, the company launched a new line of whiskies to honor Andy and Charlie’s contributions to the business. The Nelson Brothers premium line of bourbons, ryes and highly sought after cask finished whiskies continue to rack up prestigious medals and awards each year.

The American Wine Society was organized in 1967 as a non-profit, educational, consumer-oriented organization for those interested in learning more about all aspects of wine. On October 7, 1967, a group of some two hundred wine enthusiasts gathered at Dr. Konstantin Frank’s vineyard on Keuka Lake near Hammondsport, NY for the AWS’ initial meeting. Through a system of a board of directors, an executive director, regional vice presidents, and chapter chairmen, the Society has grown into a nation-wide organization of amateur grape growers, winemakers, and wine appreciators interested in learning more about the history, production, appreciation, and use of wines. The Society has also attracted wine educators and professionals in wine related sciences, as well as the wine trade itself, extending the Society to a much broader membership base than traditional wine clubs. Through recent years, the addition of members who have an avid interest in wines and the wine culture has made the Society even more valuable in the wine industry.
