With low level income and economic activities this technology has been proven to transform rural areas. FeedPro EMax Limited is the only licensed distributor of EM.1® in Tanzania. EM stands for "Effective Microorganisms". EM.1® enhances increase of beneficial microbes by attracting opportunistic microbes. The technology was invented by Professor Teruo Higa, in early 1980s – Rockyus University in Okinawa, Japan. EM is applied in faring activities of individuals and institutions, refugee camps, public and private schools, health facilities, public areas, bars and restaurant. It can also be used to decompose municipal waste and suppress odor smell and enhance performance of Anaerobic and Aerobic waste water treatment facilities.
