Kingdom Of Trials
A gripping true story set against the vibrant backdrop of Bangkok. It delves into Kevin’s tumultuous journey moving from Belgium to Thailand, starting a business with his Belgian wife, the break-up of their marriage and their ill-conceived decision to employ her Singaporean boyfriend as the head of sales. Kingdom of Trials (Murder was the Case) explores themes of justice, resilience and cultural immersion. Caught in the throes of a legal and personal crisis, Kevin has to navigate a complex web of legal challenges, fraught relationships and language barriers, while fighting to keep his ailing business alive. This is a modern tale for our times – a travel handbook, and a legal drama with courtroom suspense, it tackles the wins and losses of an entrepreneur, and explores cross-cultural relationships. It’s a self-help guide (or what not to do) when settling abroad. This isn’t your classic tale of a bitter westerner who has fallen foul of the law in a foreign land, caught with drugs, weapons and their pants down (although, there are drugs, there are guns, and there is a dismembered corpse). It's a story of triumph over adversity and a love letter to a country that, despite everything – and his extradition – Kevin still calls his home.

The Nakasendo Project
The Nakasendo Project provides an immersive historical and cultural guide to traveling the Nakasendo Road, created over 400 years ago from Tokyo (Edo) to Kyoto. It blends historical context and cultural perspectives with a practical guide to traveling the road while guiding the reader through the events and traditions that formed Japan during the Tokugawa Period and the legacy it leaves today. The 500-kilometer journey will take readers from the heart of Tokyo at Nihonbashi Bridge through the fields of the Kanto Plain, up through steep mountain passes and the stunning beauty of the Central Japanese Alps to the rice fields and lowlands surrounding Lake Biwa before ending at Sanjobashi Bridge in Kyoto. Leaning heavily on the experiences and stories of the travelers of the time and the author’s first-hand experience on the road, the Nakasendo Project takes the reader on the journey of a people who, after over 150 years of war and violence, emerged from their formerly isolated provinces to embark on a discovery of their emerging nation.
