Lixea
Lixea® (previously Chrysalix Technologies) is developing an innovative biomass fractionation process using low-cost ionic liquids. Currently, our society is heavily relying on the use of crude oil while products are discarded at the end of their lives. We want to change that, which is why we are developing novel chemical processes that enable us to live more sustainably in a clean world. Our first product is the Dendronic process that uses waste wood and agricultural by-products as well as sustainably grown biomass to produce a greener alternative to today’s petrochemical industry while providing unwanted waste materials with a new purpose.

Jälle Technologies
Jälle Technologies is a cleantech startup turning battery recyclers’ biggest headache — graphite-rich waste — into their greatest opportunity. Our proprietary process upcycles this residue into a high-performance 2D material with applications across energy storage, coatings, composites, electronics, and more. By transforming a costly waste stream into a valuable resource, we close a critical gap in the battery recycling chain. Instead of relying on mined graphite and harsh chemical processes, our method leverages the unique properties of recycled graphite, making production more efficient, scalable, and sustainable. We work as the missing link between recyclers and manufacturers: recyclers gain a profitable outlet for graphite waste, and industries gain access to advanced materials at lower environmental cost. Founded by a team of scientists and cleantech entrepreneurs, Jälle is building Europe’s first integrated pathway from battery recycling residue to graphene-like materials — positioning Estonia at the forefront of circular, high-value material innovation.
