A hub of global crafts collaborations, Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council ensures the modernization of traditional crafts, and creates new market opportunities for local craftswomen by partnering them with international designers and artists. The council also ensures the documentation of tangible and intangible craft heritage and creates publications that serve as a reference to a culture that relies heavily on storytelling. Its latest efforts have led to Sharjah’s recognition as a city of Crafts and Folk Art for the craft of Talli in 2019 by UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network.

Founded in 2004, Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs (Senses Center) is a non-profit organization based in Dubai, UAE and the first residential care facility in the Middle East, dedicated to improving the quality of life of orphans and abandoned children with special needs. Senses Center provides specialized programs that combine Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Functional Therapy, Vocational, Daily Life Skills, Sensory Integration Therapy and Educational Programs for the children between the ages of three to nineteen. We cater to the needs of mild to severe Autism, Mental Disorders, Physical Disabilities/ Cerebral Palsy and Down syndrome. In 2010, with the generous personal contribution from H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the purpose-built daycare center and residential care facility was gifted to Senses to cater the growing demand of our services. Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center Sheraa
The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) is a government-supported entity launched in 2016 with a mandate to build the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sharjah, and support entrepreneurs as they build and grow innovative startups that will contribute positively to the region’s economy. Sheraa is headquartered at the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, and also has two hubs in the heart of the American University of Sharjah and the University of Sharjah. Sheraa works hand-in-hand with entrepreneurs to build, launch, and scale startups that go on to make a significant impact in their communities. The organization also has a strong focus on empowering the next generation of changemakers, through hackathons and capacity building programs in the university hubs to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age. At the end of every year, Sheraa hosts the annual Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival, which brings together over entrepreneurs, investors, creators, industry leaders and the youth for two days of uplifting conversations, deep connection, personal growth and transformation. In essence, Sheraa’s offerings support the full spectrum of entrepreneurship, from motivating the youth to scaling startups, driving Sharjah’s vision of being a world-class entrepreneurship hub.

For almost two decades, the Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC) has been supporting businesswomen at different stages of their business careers. Through a holistic sustainable approach, SBWC offers expertise and guidance covering all aspects of a business venture. Set up in 2002 under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohamed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and Patron of Sharjah Business Women Council, SBWC has now over members from different fields, from the UAE and across the world, including Britain, Brazil and Kuwait.
