Big Bwn Project
Established in 2015 to create economic opportunities by empowering the local community, youth, entrepreneurs and women with its many national initiatives and campaigns in support of Brunei’s vision of ‘Wawasan 2035’. Over the years, we have successfully initiated various impact driven community campaigns from environmental awareness projects to supporting local small businesses and women entrepreneurs, and done over 150 projects. Big BWN Project has been supported widely by local and regional agencies and has collaborated with many different organizations to reach their various goals, and has become an active player in promoting and supporting youths, entrepreneurship and community development, addressing various different panel discussions, workshops and talks within the country and internationally. Big BWN Project was also the recipient of the 2020 National Youth Excellent Project Award by His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei, the 2021 Commonwealth Points of Light Award by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Inclusive Business Award 2021 by the ASEAN Business Awards. We take pride in our work as being one of the country’s most active community organisations, being involved in a wide range of projects at a time. Under the umbrella of Big BWN, you can find Big BWN Cookout, Big BWN Beats, Big BWN Sports, Big BWN Create and Big BWN Games. We are also consultants for local home based startups and advise on how to sustain their business, whilst also creating marketing strategies and proposals for clients to increase new prospects. We are also the creators’ of impact driven initiatives such as the Brunei Womenpreneur Network, Womennovation Brunei, Zero Waste Brunei, Brunei Young Entrepreneur Project and Tempatan. Using a collaborative approach to provide access to different platforms and opportunities, over the years we have seen tremendous success in the many projects we have conducted, locally and internationally.

Majlis Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Mkm
Majlis Kesejahteraan Masyarakat (MKM) or the Council of Social Welfare is a registered NGO under the Societies Act (Cap. 66 of Laws of Brunei) since December 2009. Our main objective is to help alleviate social welfare issues faced by the community and supporting government efforts towards overall community well-being, especially in terms of rendering assistance to the vulnerable and underprivileged groups in Brunei and beyond. In order to fulfil this objective, MKM runs various programs throughout the year and offers assistance such as directing and assisting eligible families to get welfare assistance provided by the government, giving temporary assistance to eligible families who are waiting for government welfare, assisting needy students in their schooling finances, providing basic necessities to deserving families on a monthly basis, running programs that empower the needy to break the poverty cycle, as well as providing ad-hoc donations and assistance to victims of natural disasters, pandemics and crises. Our work is concentrated in Brunei, although we have and continue to render assistance to the needy in other places such as Limbang, Miri, Surabaya, and Bangladesh. Our flagship overseas programme is assisting Rohingyan refugees in Bangladesh whereby MKM, in collaboration with Gifting Humanity, has built and operates the largest NGO-led school for Rohingyan refugees at Unchiprang Rohingya Refugee Camp, Cox Bazaar, Bangladesh.

Respectme
A youth-led non-government organisation. RME started as a platform on Instagram to share stories from survivors of sexual violence. As our team grew, our platform extends to provide support for survivors, enhance awareness, educate the community and kickstart projects against sexual violence. Currently, RME is conducting support groups for survivors, participating in Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), creating Mental Health First Aid Kit Box and collaborating with other organisations in extending this effort.

Bleed Safely
A social impact enterprise helping young girls and women to find education and awareness on menstrual health. Based in Brunei Darussalam in January 2023.
