Smart Famers Of Burma - Sfb

We promote integrative, sustainable farming practices which are rooted in traditional knowledge, are environmentally friendly, and provide an alternative to conventional agriculture. In spite of Myanmar's rich natural resources for sustainable farming, a large number of people are living under the poverty line especially in rural areas. In Myanmar, the most important one of the communities' agricultural communication and using basic telecommunication services in the rural sector has not been developed so far. To be sustainable for social, economic equity, and the environment, agriculture must meet the needs of present and future generations at the community level. The goals and targets will focus action in areas of the critical needs for grassroots level: 1. To educate basic use of telecommunication for integrative sustainable farming practices at the grassroots level improving food security, nutrition, food safety, and increasing on-farm income. To gain solid fundamental knowledge and practical skills in demonstrating creative local farming inputs such as local seeds production, natural fertilizers production with neighboring local farmers. To create a strong young farmers network, including women throughout Myanmar's rural sector that can build participation of resilience of grassroots communities. We aim to educate, train and empower the young farmers and start-up community network to carry out basic use of telecommunication on agricultural information services in the rural development areas with local innovative agricultural mobile application providers and the young farmers. As a consequence, we will be able to continue our training to provide appropriate telecommunication skills for each young group to develop their creative problem-solving skills in the long term. In this way, we will educate the young farmers in rural areas to develop sustainable agriculture and environmental sector, inclusive and effective learning for all.
