We work at the local level in communities, particularly in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Vinnytsia regions, and we also collaborate internationally with partners in the fields of architecture, housing policy, design, and urbanism.

City Development Institute Of Zaporizhzhia
The City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia (CDIZ) is a municipal organization in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, established in 2015. Its core functions encompass international cooperation, humanitarian aid, resource mobilization, project coordination, research, promotion, expert support, and initiatives for shelters and heating points. CDIZ collaborates with over 130 partners at regional, national, and international levels. Since March 2022, CDIZ has prioritized humanitarian cooperation to provide aid to IDPs and the local population during wartime. It coordinates partner contacts, facilitates visits, maintains databases on city needs, prepares assistance requests, offers logistical support for humanitarian cargoes, and organizes reporting. Most aid is directed to healthcare facilities, social services, and IDP settlements. Additionally, CDIZ seeks resource assistance to strengthen utilities and services.

Our goal is to provide city governments, developers, and businesses with new technologies to improve the quality of the urban environment and city services. Through a people-centric approach to spatial development, SYNCHRO SPACE advocates for spaces that not only serve functional needs but also resonate with the emotions and aspirations of the community. SYNCHRO SPACE conducts urban hackathons, unique programs, and events that implement the best foreign urban development practices, showcasing the transformative potential of innovative design and technology in shaping cities of the future. These events foster collaboration and creativity, allowing residents, developers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to actively contribute to the development and transformation of their urban spaces. Since 2019, SYNCHRO SPACE has successfully collaborated with 12 cities and Urban Territorial Communities (UTCs) of Ukraine, 2 regional administrations, and 4 Ukrainian Ministries. Additionally, the hub enjoys support from esteemed international partners, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Embassies of the Netherlands, Austria, Great Britain, and other international organizations.

The Housing Institute is the first of its kind in Ukraine. Drawing from successful initiatives worldwide, we are dedicated to addressing housing challenges, promoting sustainable urban development, and advocating for adequate and affordable housing solutions. Our goal is to create the conditions for positive impact on communities and improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable sectors of society affected by the war.
