Youlead
YouLead is all about youth. We are a legacy organisation of USAID's youth employment and entrepreneurship support, and successor to the IESC implemented project, which also received support from the European union and SDC in its maiden journey of seven years, to bridge the gap between existing youth skills and growing Sri Lankan market demands. YouLead is now an independent youth focused social venture in Sri Lanka, building on its legacy of youth development. YouLead welcomes opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders in the public, private and development sectors to enable young women and men to become agents of positive change in their own futures and in their communities. We aim to continue creating an implementing innovative, youth centred, and youth led initiatives that give young people greater agency over the decisions that impact their lives and greater influence in their schools and communities.

The Interact Club of St. Joseph's College, Colombo, was inaugurated on October 9, 1980, with Rotary Club of Colombo Central's support. It received its Charter Certificate the same month and continues to thrive with dedicated advisors and leaders. Mrs. Nimala Perera was appointed as the Club's first Staff Advisor and continues to do so 42 years later. Past Int. PP. Rohan Caius was the ICSJC's Chartering President in 1980/81. Throughout its 42-year history of excellence, the Interact Club of St. Joseph's Collage has demonstrated the true meaning of Interact's purpose,"Service Above Self," by putting forward successful and beneficial projects in all avenues International Understanding, Community Service, Finance, Green Life, Club Service, and Public Relations such as Globetrotter, Smile for Life, Neverland, Color Run, and Retrospect By hosting such events, we as people get to see a different aspect of ourselves and what we are capable of, which helps us attain greater goals. The Interact Club of St. Joseph's Collage has become one of the premier clubs of Interact District 3220, preserving high concepts and values, and has set many exceptional standards throughout its beautiful 42-year existence. The Muslim Majlis of the University of Colombo is the only interfaculty Muslim undergraduate body functioning in the University of Colombo. It prides itself on its ability to ensure the increased welfare of Muslim undergraduates, and the active promotion of the study and practice of Islam and Islamic culture among Muslim students, since 1973. In addition, the Muslim Majlis, as a vibrant students’ cultural body of a metropolitan university, regularly organizes a variety of routine programs that include cultural and religious programs for both Muslim and non-Muslim students alike. The programs are designed to be continuous or are periodic. Particularly, the screening of Islamic material; of well-renowned Islamic scholars for Muslim, and non-Muslim students and staff, Thajweed classes for boys and girls separately and screening of various Islamic short video clips etc. remain some of its most popular events. While it endeavors to promote Islamic religious and cultural interface among the multi-cultural University community, its key goals include the elimination of undesirable misconceptions about Islam, Muslims, and contemporary Muslim world. The Majlis also has a host of Muslim intellectuals amongst its alumni. As in the past the Muslim Majlis remains committed to producing more, well rounded off Muslim undergraduates who are of benefit to the Muslim community the world over.
