Australian Land Conservation Alliance
ALCA is the peak national body for organisations that conserve, manage, and restore nature on private land. Together, we work towards a healthy, resilient Australia, where nature thrives and is cared for by empowered people and communities. We are at the helm of an expanding membership that is actively addressing some of the nation’s most critical conservation challenges. This includes initiatives that restore endangered ecosystems, build the protected area estate, combat invasive species, expand conservation finance, and deploy nature-based solutions to mitigate climate change. In a time where nature decline and biodiversity loss threaten life as we know it, the need for collective action and systemic change is fundamental. ALCA plays a crucial role in supporting and enabling our members to scale their impact by advocating for good policy, securing significant investment, fostering a capable sector, cultivating a pipeline of leaders, and, at the core, building a community that understands and values the role of private land conservation.

Conservation Ecology Centre
The Conservation Ecology Centre is a nationally registered charity and non-profit ecological research and conservation organisation dedicated to a healthy and resilient Otways landscape. Generating knowledge to nurture Country, Conservation Ecology Centre partners with traditional owners, research institutions, NGOs, government agencies and community to better understand and protect threatened species and ecosystems by conducting vital research and restoring habitat. Being based in the beautiful Otway Ranges (on the Great Ocean Road) provides a unique opportunity to facilitate research, and deliver programs, in one of Australia’s truly wild places. Current projects include: studies of the effects of fire on Long-nosed Potoroos and other small native mammals; koala woodland habitat restoration; and the tracking and removal of introduced pest species, such as foxes, cats, pigs and deer, from the landscape. All projects are chosen for their potential to have a broad application and to benefit wildlife and environments locally, across Australian landscapes, and around the world. Our mission is to develop, deliver and share solutions for effective conservation across the Otways and beyond. Our vision is a healthy and resilient Otways cared for forever.

The Glowworm Caves Tamborine Mountain
Come and visit the only breeding facility of glowworms in the world! Our cave was created to protect the local species of glowworms; Arachnocampa flava. Glowworms are actually fly larvae that glow in dark to attract and catch small flying insects to feed on. Glowworms are quite precious, they help control insect populations and are only native to Australia and New Zealand. The goal of our cave and our glowworm tours is to provide an experience that is accessible for families while benefiting wild glowworm populations. Our guided tours allow public visitors the opportunity to see glowworms during the daytime. It was built to divert the public to our cave instead of local glowworm colonies, in an attempt to promote natural glowworm numbers in the wild to recover and increase in numbers. Unfortunately, glowworms are becoming rare due to increased tourism and deforestation which has devastated natural populations, particularly in the Gold Coast area. Our glowworm cave is a certified conservation program, visiting our site is a sustainable, and ethical way to see glowworms while contributing to their ongoing conservation.

Koala Conservation Australia
Koala Conservation Australia (Port Macquarie Koala Hospital and Wild Koala Breeding Program and Visitor Centre) has been helping rescue and rehabilitate koalas since 1973. We are a not-for-profit organisation that includes approximately 200 volunteers dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating koalas and conserving and restoring their natural habitats. In 2022, the Koala was officially listed as an endangered species. Unfortunately, this listing was completely preventable. Recent studies indicate the koala will become extinct in New South Wales before 2050 – unless rapid and effective action is taken. Our Koala population face several threats including loss of habitat, disease, and injury and attack. The world-first Wild Koala Breeding Program was launched in 2024, at Guulabaa - Place of Koala with the aim to arrest declining koala populations and ensure the survival of the species for generations to come.

Invertebrates Australia
Invertebrates include the vast majority of animal diversity - from bees, beetles and spiders to jellyfish, coral and giant squid - and are of almost unquantifiable ecological and economic importance. Many of them do our hard work, e.g. pollinating, decomposing, nutrient cycling, reef-building, and others undo our hard work, e.g. locust plagues and invasive species, but irrespective, they receive a small fraction of government and industry resourcing and media attention relative to vertebrates. Invertebrates Australia was founded in September 2021 by three scientists who identified a critical mismatch between the way invertebrates are seen, as one large group of cryptic creepy crawlies, and the way they truly are, hundreds of mega-diverse groups. This mismatch has far-reaching consequences and contributes to the lack of data and knowledge so by creating a group that can represent all invertebrates we hope to make a big positive impact on ecological and economic outcomes in biodiversity management.

Oceans Eco Motive
Oceans Eco Motive Helping people and organisations make waves for nature, community, and small eco-businesses. Hi, I’m Jen Oceans, and I created Oceans Eco Motive to bring together the things I care most about: looking after Country, supporting people doing good work, and using creativity to spark change. I offer practical support for conservation groups, small eco-businesses, and community organisations—helping them get clear on their direction, grow their impact, and tell their story beautifully. Some days it’s helping a grassroots group with branding, strategy, or a campaign. Some days that looks like Healthy Country Planning. Other days it’s creating art inspired by nature to raise funds or awareness. I’m also a big believer that admin, governance, and business planning shouldn’t be the things that hold great people back—so I help with that too. I’m a gypsy at heart—I rarely stay in one place for long but I’m always online but I prefer to work face-to-face and in nature whenever I can. I all over Australia and will travel to globe to work with people who want to make a difference. If you’re looking for some fresh thinking, hands-on support, or just someone to help bring your idea to life—reach out and let’s have a chat. Email Oceansecomotive@gmail.com
