Camtesol Conference
CamTESOL is a conference for professionals in the field of English Language Teaching and related issues. The first CamTESOL conference was in 2005 on the theme of “Practical Issues in Teaching”. This focus on the practice of ELT has continued. CamTESOL has now become the premier professional development conference in the Asia Pacific region with an average audience of 1,700 attending annually (over 600 of whom are international participants from more than 30 countries). The CamTESOL Conference Series has several components and related activities. The 14th conference includes three pre-conference events: Educational and Cultural Tours and Regional ELT Research Symposium, which was hosted as a full-day symposium since 2014. CamTESOL also gives rise to a peer-reviewed online publication entitled Language Education in Asia. This is a peer-reviewed journal with an Editorial Board of approximately 75 international editors from 20 countries. CamTESOL presenters are encouraged to submit their papers for consideration in this publication. CamTESOL brings together the following groups- Classroom teachers of English and teacher trainers- Researchers in the fields of ELT and linguistics- Administrators of English language schools and universities- Educators with an interest in international language education- ELT-related individuals and institutions and Ministry of Education representatives- Foreign experts or researchers who wish to network within the ELT communities in Southeast Asia. CamTESOL aims to- Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information on good practices within English Language Teaching- Strengthen and broaden the network of English language teachers and all those involved in the ELT sector in - Cambodia and the region- Increase the links between the ELT communities in Southeast Asia and the international ELT community- Showcase research in the fields of language and language education.

Chea Sim University of Kamchaymear formerly Maharishi Vedic University is the first university established in 1991 after the 7th January 1979 Victory Day in the rural part of Cambodia under the cooperation between Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Kingdom of Cambodia and Australian Aid for Cambodia Fund and under operation to offer master’s degree, bachelor’s degree and associate degree training programs for students. CSUK is a public higher education institution. The university was run by Cambodian Government appointed administrators and foreign specialists and advisors. Australian Aid for Cambodia Fund provided support on operational expenses and foreigner professors before its mission ended in late 2008. The University changed its name to Chea Sim University of Kamchaymear on December 9, 2008. The construction of new infrastructure has been initiated and directed by Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Lok Chumteav Nhem Sakhan and was inaugurated on 6 June 2013 presided by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The main campus of Chea Sim University of Kamchaymear is located in Thnal Keng village, Smoang Cheung commune, Kamchaymear district, Prey Veng province, Cambodia, 110 kilometers from Phnom Penh along National Road 8 east of Phnom Penh. The University has 02 branches, one in Prey Veng provincial town and the other in Kampong Cham provincial town, enrolling a total of approximately students who are from provinces-municipalities of Kingdom of Cambodia.
