Marc Bolan School Of Music And Film
The Marc Bolan School of Music and the Light Of Love Foundation, takes its inspiration both from Marc Bolan's own incredible level of creativity and energy, and from the broader past. Music has the power to inspire and to reconcile, it touches people through time and over great distances, it brings us together, telling us that we understand each other, that we care for each other. Nowadays it's clear that important artists such as Marc Bolan, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Ami Winehouse and The Beatles are as much loved today as they were when they first produced their work and gave their classic performances. Through their creativity and application their music has the power to revive the broken spirit, to engage the troubled soul and to move the feet of the desperate in rhythm and dance as well as to bring joy to countless millions of hearts. The Marc Bolan School of Music is a project that hopes to achieve such a vision for the children of Sierra Leone. We want, as Marc Bolan did, to inspire children, to give them the chance to learn to play music instruments, to write, to compose, to produce records, and to be heard by the world.

Keep It Fax Charity
Keep It Fax is a small charitable organisation formed in 2012 to make a difference to a targeted group of Sierra Leonean children, with particular focus on girls. Since our conception we have provided scholarships and made improvements to the schools we work with. We have also provided ad hoc assistance to Sierra Leone in times of crises, such as during the largescale Ebola outbreak. In 2019 we hope to support orphaned children to find foster arrangements. If you’re wondering why we’re called Keep It ‘FAX’? FAX is an indigenous word which roughly translates as ‘positive’ or ‘real’ in English. The message behind the name is ‘let’s keep things moving positively in the right direction’. All of our activities have been funded and organised thanks to the efforts of a group of full-time and part-time volunteers. More than 90% of the funds raised go direct to helping children in Sierra Leone, as our small scale and volunteer-based governing board means we have almost no overheads.
