Women In Climate And Energy - Wice
Founded in 2018, Women in Climate and Energy (WiCE) is a leading Armenian non‑profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable development by empowering women and youth in the climate and energy sectors. Bringing together over 150 professionals, WiCE advocates for sustainable living and a just transition to renewable energy. Working closely with national and international stakeholders, WiCE drives change through evidence-based research, policy and legislative review, capacity building, mentoring, advocacy, and implementation of projects that align with the Sustainable Development Goals. These efforts generate knowledge, foster leadership, and support Armenia’s transition to a low‑carbon and climate‑resilient future. WiCE promotes gender‑sensitive action throughout the energy transition, in Armenia and globally. Its work includes studies on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate change; initiatives for community resilience; awareness‑raising campaigns; and programmes on mitigation and adaptation. Key impact areas: – Climate leadership – advancing women’s participation in decision-making; – Capacity building – equipping professionals and youth with skills in renewable energy, efficiency, and adaptation; – Policy influence – integrating gender equality and social inclusion into strategies and plans; – Community action – empowering vulnerable groups with knowledge and solutions; – Global engagement – amplifying Armenian voices in international climate processes. Contribution To Women And Children Ngo
To help reduce the unemployment rate for women in and around Dilijan, the Contribution to Women and Children NGO recently completed a series of training courses in computer skills, labor rights, and English through a grant from the U.S. Embassy’s Democracy Commission Grant program. U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills, Jr, joined the NGO for their concluding round table discussion where the class participants were able to meet potential employers.
