Baxevanis Plants

The history of the family business begins in 1922 with Athanasios Baxevanis, who came to Greece as a refugee after the Asia Minor Disaster. His love for flowers was the comfort for all that he and his family suffered from the uprooting. In 1960 he started dealing exclusively with Ornamental Plants. The baton of the business is taken over by his son Gavriil, who has been in charge since the early 1970s and continues his father's activities. He creates a greenhouse in Drama, while in 1976 he builds the first glass-enclosed greenhouse in Northern Greece! In 1985, his son Panagiotis Baxevanis, the current owner, also started the business activity. In 1991, Panagiotis Baxevanis decided to move the greenhouses outside the city, to their current location in privately owned facilities, which occupy a total of m2 of which m2 are greenhouses and the remaining m2 outdoor crops and facilities. Today the company has its own trucks specifically for the transport of flowers and plants. It expands dynamically in the market, strengthens the sales network and adapts to new conditions. Grows various ornamental plants, exports to Holland, Belgium, Germany & neighboring Bulgaria. It supplies all of Greece with its products while importing plants from Holland, Belgium, Germany & Italy. It uses the most modern mechanical equipment while all the greenhouses are glass fences. In the company acquires the discreet tittle “ARCADIATERRA” and is transported to its new residence in the Industrial Area of Tripolis. By the year 2010 “Arcadiaterra”, has moved to its new modern facilities measuring in the Industrial Area of Tripolis. During the construction of these facilities all the modern techniques and equipment have been used in order to comply with safety and environmental rules. At the same time we are manufacturing spraying machinery and agricultural machinery for varius other applications. Our mission is to provide farmers the best and most reliable tools, through constant research and utilization of new technologies, in order to get the best possible results from their fields! Magma-Agro S.A

MAGMA Agricultural Inputs S.A. was accredited in 2012 by the Greek authorities to perform field trials according to Good Experimental Practice (GEP). By 2014, two well-equipped field stations were established, enabling trials in both northern and southern Greece. Subsequently, in 2016 we obtained accreditation to carry out residue studies in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). The years 2018-19 witnessed a significant expansion of MAGMA. The field trial department acquired new office and lab space in order to improve and upscale the services. We started forming international partnerships for importing cutting edge environment-friendly plant protection products to Greece. Finally, a research & development branch was opened in Crete and formed close ties with academia for creating innovative products and technologies. In the coming years, we plan to continue this streak of expansion, motivated by an ambitious vision.
