Czech National Pavilion At Expo 2025 Osaka
In June 2022, the Czech government decided to participate at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. The official theme of this world exhibition is "Designing Future Society for Our Lives". It will be held from 13th April to 13th October, 2025. The organisers expect 150 participating countries and 25 international organizations to attend and over 28 million visitors, which makes the Expo one of the world largest marketing platforms. TALENT AND CREATIVITY FOR LIFE. The Czech participation celebrates the talent and creativity and empathy of the nation. It is the talent and creativity that are the fundamental qualities of people that help a person to overcome partial obstacles of life and are the engine of constant development. Empathy – as an ability to understand others – helps to develop not only individual personalities, but also humanity as a whole. All these qualities will remain the sovereign characteristics of human beings and will not be replaced by computers or machines anytime soon. Our main goal is to present Czechia as a modern, confident and competitive country with an emphasis on the topics of sustainability, security, education, innovation and quality of life. The national exhibition will be based on themes and values that have been admired in Japan for a long time, especially quality architecture, culture and art, and subsequently introduce our areas of expertise we want to be recognised for in Japan in the future, such as ICT, biotechnologies, modern energy concepts and gaming industry. Our ambition is to follow up on the successful participation of Czechoslovakia at Expo 1970, which was also held in Osaka, Kansai. The main connecting element between the two national pavilions will be the Bohemian Crystal. In 1970 the artistic crystal installation “River of Life” reflected one of the saddest moments of the Czechoslovakian history; but the new Crystal River in 2025 will celebrate life, talent and innovation.
