Isfahan Science Technology Town
vist our webpage Economic development is not possible in the absence of a well-concerted, inclusive, endogenous and fair research system as a fundamental infrastructure. The world has already learned about the effective role of independent and self-reliant businesses and research institutions active in different arenas. One of the modern strategies adopted to eliminate obstacles and impediments to the development of such businesses and institutions has been the initiative of creating science parks and towns. The idea of science parks and towns as modern scientific structures dates back to the 1960s. Economic recession, reduced income, and rising unemployment in the 1980s has been effective in the development of this idea. Concentration in some south eastern Asian countries of certain areas of the international market can be accounted for by the activity of science and research parks and towns in these regions. Organized strategies to facilitate innovations of different kinds in research-based production areas are among the features of science parks. Today, research towns and parks are regarded as new idea and are entrusted with the chief task of technology development and creation of a suitable environment to foster innovations, and employ the creative scientific and research potentials of universities, public and private research institutions, and owners of industries. In 1993, the institutionalization of this international movement caught the attention of a number of researchers, industrialists, and executives in Isfahan Province, and ISTT"s foundations began to take shape. Following are ISTT"s activities, a decade after it began to operate. Iranian National Standards Orgnization
Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) is the sole competent Organization in the country for the development and publication of national standards. The organization is the official governing authority which is responsible for policy-making, good supervision in the fields of standards, guidance of the standard system, and ensuring the quality of goods and services. INSO in its journey towards excellence and playing its key role in the promotion of Standardization, Metrology, Accreditation, and Conformity Assessment services has always been evolving and gaining a regional and international reputation and recognition. Standardization in Iran began with the adoption of Iran Weights and Measures Law in 1925 and the initial structure for national standardization was laid in the framework of an affiliated office within the Ministry of Commerce in 1953. The increasing need of domestic industries for manufacturing products as per a set of recognized norms and standards led to the approval of the bill for the establishment of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) in 1960. So, the Institute became operational according to the specified functions and responsibilities under the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Commerce and joined the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the same year. The critical and vital role of ISIRI as a statutory body necessitated making the Institute a national independent body; therefore its status has been upgraded and set under the direct supervision of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This initiative was following by a revision in the law of ISIRI passed by the parliament which has been underway since 2011. As a result, the Institute has been upgraded in terms of the administrative structure under the new name of Iran National Standards Organization (INSO). According to the law amending the laws and regulations of INSO passed in February 1993 and later amended in June 1997, Th
