Bangladesh Computer Council, Chittagong
Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of Bangladesh (GOB). BCC is vested with the responsibility to promote ICT and its uses. It was established as National Computer Committee (NCC) in 1983 and then it went through a series of changes to end up as BCC as follows: 1. National Computer Committee 1983 2. National Computer Board 1988 3. BCC Ordinance 1989 4. BCC Act 1990 Bangladesh Computer Council came into being vide BCC Act 1990 and started functioning as a statutory corporate body under President’s Secretariat. Then in 1991 Bangladesh Computer Council was placed under the then Ministry of Science and Technology, then Ministry of Science and ICT, then Ministry of ICT. At present the BCC is working under newly formed Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology. BCC has undertaken the programme called “Conducting Standard Computer Training Course in Divisional Headquarters” in order to expand the use of computer and information technology outside the capital city Dhaka. In view of the above, computer training centers in six divisional headquarters: Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barisal, Khulna, Sylhet & Faridpur (as Dhaka divisional centre) have been established. The project was started from The Divisional headquarter of BCC was innaugurated on January 2002 and started training on August 2002. Afterwards it is being implemented under revenue budget on 05 October-2009. Now BCC is expanding its training facilities through regional offices with other development & consulting activities and introducing more new industry faced training courses for human resource development.

Introduction: The organization was formed in 1953 as part of the Fauji Foundation. It was then registered as a charitable trust under the Charitable Institutions Act, 1890. Between 1960 and 1970, the Army Welfare Organization set up Fauji Rice Mills in Rangpur, Fauji Chatkal in Ghorashal and Fauji Flower Mills in Chittagong. The company also bought shares of East Pakistan Lamps, Electrical Industries and Pakistan Tobacco Company. After the independence of Bangladesh, on 1 July 1972, it was reorganized as Senakalyan Sangstha. The company started working on the present structure in 1982 with assets worth Tk 2.5 crore. In 1986, it became the largest industrial and welfare organization in Bangladesh with a net worth of Tk 96.7 crore. National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh
The National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh was reconstituted in 2009 as a national advocacy institution for human rights promotion and protection. It is committed to the accomplishment of human rights in a broader sense, including dignity, worth and freedom of every human being, as enshrined in the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and different international human rights conventions and treaties to which Bangladesh is a signatory. The purpose of establishing such splendid institution is to contribute to the embodiment of human dignity and integrity as well as to the safeguard of the basic order of democracy so that inalienable fundamental human rights of all individuals are protected and the standards of human rights are improved in the country. Established by the National Human Rights Commission Act, 2009 in consonance with Bangladesh’s commitment to international human rights law, the Commission serves as a mechanism for the enrichment of the realization of human rights. Its journey is aimed at creating a culture of human rights through public enlightenment on diverse human rights issues so that the people of the country can contribute to larger peace and security keeping in pace with the ‘progressive aspirations of human kind.
