Eos-Utvalget Stortingets Kontrollutvalg For De Hemmelige Tjenestene
EOS-utvalget er et uavhengig kontrollorgan oppnevnt av Stortinget for å føre løpende kontroll med etterretnings, overvåkings, og sikkerhetstjenester som utføres eller styres av offentlige myndigheter, og som har til formål å ivareta rikets sikkerhet. EOS-tjenestene består i dag av Etterretningstjenesten (E-tjenesten), Politiets sikkerhetstjeneste (PST), Nasjonal sikkerhetsmyndighet (NSM) og Forsvarets sikkerhetsavdeling (FSA). Også etterretnings, overvåkings- og sikkerhetstjeneste som utføres eller styres av andre offentlige myndigheter, faller inn under kontrollområdet. Utvalget kan ikke instruere eller gjøre vedtak overfor tjenestene, men kan uttale sin mening om saker eller forhold det undersøker som ledd i kontrollvirksomheten, og gi anbefalinger eller tilrådinger til EOS-tjenestene. Eksempelvis at en personregistrering bør slettes, en sak bør tas opp igjen eller at en praksis bør avvikles. I sine meldinger til Stortinget om kontrollvirksomheten, kan utvalget gjøre oppmerksom på forhold eller problemstillinger i EOS-tjenestene som er av aktuell interesse. Utvalgets meldinger gir Stortinget grunnlag for å vurdere om det for eksempel bør gjøres endringer i praksis eller regelverk. Utvalget består av syv medlemmer og har et permanent sekretariat. Eu Delegation To Norway
The Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Oslo is one of around 140 diplomatic representations of the EU around the world. The Delegation in Oslo was founded in 1987 as the Delegation of the European Commission and was for many years responsible for the official relations between the EU and Norway and the EU and Iceland. At the end of 2009, with the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty and the creation of the European External Action Service, the Delegation was re-named Delegation of the EU. At the same time, a separate delegation was created in Iceland. The Delegation maintains regular contacts with Norwegian authorities and all important actors in Norwegian society. It prepares analyses and reports on developments in Norway. Another important task of the Delegation is to provide information about EU institutions and policies to both the government and the wider public. The Delegation therefore often arranges seminars on the EU that are open to all, as well as visits to schools and organisations.
