National Youth Council Singapore
NYC is the national body for youth development in Singapore and the focal point of international youth affairs. NYC was set up by the Singapore Government on 1 November 1989 as the national co-ordinating body for youth affairs in Singapore and the focal point of international youth affairs. On 1 January 2015, NYC began its operations as an autonomous agency under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and housed two key institutions: Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) and Youth Corps Singapore. Embassy Of Switzerland In Singapore
As the official representation of Switzerland, the embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic and financial affairs, legal arrangements, science, education and culture. The embassy supports cooperation between Switzerland and Singapore. In this respect, close contact with the respective ministries of economic affairs is important. Bilateral meetings organised by the embassy are used to strengthen relations between Switzerland and Singapore. The embassy promotes the Swiss economy in the host country, Swiss exports and tourism. It establishes contacts with Swiss businesses and provides them with general information and legal advice concerning the economy of the host country. The embassy monitors the economic and political situation in the country and communicates developments that are of interest to Switzerland. The embassy fosters collaboration in the areas of science, technology and education with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in terms of research and innovation. It promotes the exchange of ideas between scientific institutions and universities. It also supports Swiss students in the host country and tries to encourage qualified students from the Singapore to study in Switzerland. In terms of culture, the embassy aims to promote mutual understanding in its work to implement Swiss cultural policy. It strengthens contacts with – and between – relevant cultural institutions of Switzerland and Singapore, and also with artists, for example supporting Swiss artists who would like to show their work abroad. Events organised or supported by the embassy should highlight Switzerland's commitment to culture and help build bridges between different cultures. The EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) is the primary voice for European Business within the ASEAN region. The overarching objective of the EU-ABC is to promote changes in policies, rules and regulations so that European businesses can more easily invest and develop their businesses in ASEAN, benefiting not only their own shareholders but local economies and populations as well. Formally established and constituted in early 2014, the EU-ABC has existed on an informal basis since 2011, successfully organising several ASEAN-EU Business Summits and regularly interacting with the European Commission, ASEAN Member States, ASEAN Secretariat, and other related organisations such as the ASEAN Business Advisory Council. The EU-ABC’s membership consists of large European MNCs and the nine European Chambers of Commerce from around Southeast Asia. As such, the EU-ABC represents a diverse range of European industries cutting across almost every commercial sphere from car manufacturing through to financial services and including FMCG and high-end electronics and communications. Our members all have a vested interest in enhancing trade, commerce and investment between Europe and ASEAN. The High Commission of Rwanda in Singapore was officially opened in 2008, after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Rwanda and Singapore in 2005. Rwanda’s only High Commission in Southeast Asia, the High Commission in Singapore also serves as the non-resident Mission to Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia. The High Commission is headed by His Excellency Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye, who was appointed High Commissioner in 2019.
