Ethiopian Medical Students' Association - Resuscitationtraining Emsa-Rt

EMSA-RT is a collaborative work done between Ethiopian medical students’ association and Ethiopian Resuscitation Training center (ERT (AHA in Ethiopia) a division of AHA’s International Training Operation, operating as an American Heart Association training center in Ethiopia. The project aims to; address the need for quality basic life support in our health sector by providing skill sessions based on the AHA guideline. The skill session is aimed to bridge the gap identified in the medical curriculum which focuses more on theoretical knowledge than practical skills. The sessions provided will include Basic life support (BLS) training first with an expansion to include advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) practical skill session trainings. Since its establishment on June, 2022, the project has established 3 training sites under EMSA-ETHIOPIA Local chapters in Addis Ababa namely in the compounds of St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, Tikur Anbesa Hospital, and Myungsung Medical College (Korea Hospital). Through these training sites we have been able to train and capacitate close to 235 medical students from various corners of our country.
