Maritime Discovery Group Inc
At the Maritime Discovery Foundation, we are committed to uncovering the lost stories of the past through research and the discovery of historical shipwrecks along the West Australian coastline. As a non-profit organisation, we focus on locating missing shipwrecks and advancing maritime archaeology projects. Over the past 25 years, the Foundation has successfully identified numerous previously undiscovered wrecks off Western Australia's coast. Our expertise lies in the use of advanced geophysical techniques, particularly airborne magnetics, to pinpoint potential wreck sites. We have conducted extensive magnetic surveys along the WA coast, covering the reefs between Perth and Carnarvon, as well as the Abrolhos Islands. These surveys have mapped magnetic anomalies across more than 30 known wreck sites and identified a variety of anomalies indicative of potential wreck sites. Many of these sites have been dived, and where historic wrecks have been confirmed, the findings have been reported to the WA Maritime Museum. Many more remain to be dived.
