The Aga Khan Health Service, Tajikistan (AKHS,Tajikistan) aims to provide comprehensive, sustainable, available, accessible, and affordable health care in partnership with the government and through its own not-for-profit entity to improve the health status of the communities in Tajikistan. Through the successful implementation of the diverse range of community programs across Tajikistan (Zarafshan Valley, Rasht and Khatlon regions (completed) as well as through service provision including the Aga Khan Medical Center, Khorog (AKMC,K), pharmaceutical programs and digital health supported around 1,067,134 people. AKHS, Tajikistan was the first to introduce the community-based management of the moderate acute malnutrition initiatives for children < 5 years old and pregnant and lactating women introducing LNS Acha Mam (children<5 years) and Super Cereal (pregnant and lactating women) in Tajikistan. Also, it has been a pioneer in e-health. In 2018, the establishment of the AKMC, K further complemented and supported the Government of Tajikistan's efforts to provide quality diagnostic and treatment services. AKMC, K is a multispecialty healthcare facility offering comprehensive services including laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and emergency services. An outreach facility in Rushan is connected to AKMC, K. Established in 1977, the pharmaceutical project, also a significant part of AKHS, Tajikistan aims to increase and ensure uninterrupted access to essential medicines for communities in GBAO. This marks the beginning of our continued commitment to providing quality healthcare to the people of Tajikistan.
