Assemble
Australia needs fresh housing solutions to tackle our entrenched housing crisis. Backed by our majority owners, AustralianSuper and HESTA – two of Australia’s largest superannuation funds - we are delivering new homes and providing better and more diverse housing choices for renters and homebuyers right across the country. Our approach sees us design new housing investment models which will create a better, fairer housing system – and one that cares for the people and places within it. As a Certified B Corp, we’re part of a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact. We’ve introduced innovative ways to support people to achieve home ownership. Backed by AustralianSuper, our purchase pathway (known as build-to-rent-to-own) fixes the rent and purchase price of our homes for five years, enabling our residents to experience living in their homes whilst they save to buy - without the housing market racing away from them. We have completed two projects under our purchase pathway – 38 Albermarle Street, and 15 Thompson Street in Kensington – with further projects currently in construction. We also know the Australian housing rental market also needs innovation. Backed by HESTA, we’re also delivering social, affordable, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and mid-market-rate rental housing (build-to-rent), where residents can start putting down roots. Our first project, 402 Macaulay Road in Kensington, is due for completion in 2025.

Havelock Housing Limited
Havelock Housing Limited is a dedicated community housing organisation that is committed to reducing homelessness. We do this by managing multiple property portfolios such as Canberra's iconic community housing development Havelock House, along with Gunghalin Singles Accommodation and Disability Housing to name a few. Overall we manage 300 properties and support over 370 tenants. Havelock House opened in 1951, and became home to public servants. There was less demand for hostel accommodation during the 1970s, and under The Hon Malcolm Fraser’s government in 1981, the sale of Havelock House was announced. The sale did not proceed, and a small section of the building became an office for the Australian Federal Police. In 1983, the first Hawke Ministry handed over full control and use of the building to the AFP despite intense lobbying by various welfare groups. The decision, when made public, elicited a quick and powerful response from concerned community groups. By early July a picket line was in place outside Havelock House, which remained in place for 16 weeks through a Canberra winter. The Australian Social Welfare Union coordinated the picket with support from the ACT Council of Social Services. Numerous unions, community organisations and hundreds of individuals gave their time. The picket ended in December 1983 with a settlement, which committed the government to: • Transfer Havelock House to low-cost housing use when alternative office accommodation was built for the AFP • Undertake an inquiry into homelessness in the ACT and surrounding regions. The building was officially handed over from the Department of Territories to Havelock Housing Association on 10th April 1988, and the first residents moved in. Since then we have ensured affordable accommodation for people on low incomes. Properties in other locations across Canberra gradually came under the Association’s management and today we are one of the largest Community Housing providers in the ACT.

Wonderlife
wonderlife – Exploring the Future of Living wonderlife is an experimental platform exploring what the future of living could look like. As the way we live, work, and connect continues to shift, we’re asking bold questions about how our neighbourhoods, homes, and communities need to evolve to meet new social, economic, and environmental realities. We see neighbourhoods not just as places we live, but as living systems that shape how we relate to each other, to work, to nature, and to purpose. Wonderlife brings together deep experience in building large-scale coworking and innovation communities and applies that thinking to housing, urban design, and shared infrastructure. Through concept development, prototyping, and thought leadership, we explore ideas such as intergenerational living, circular neighbourhood models, localised economies, and life-centred planning. We look at how technology, design, and human values can intersect to build more resilient, inclusive, and connected places. Wonderlife is not a commercial venture. It’s a sandbox for ideas, a space for asking better questions, and a home for white papers, frameworks, and collaborative experiments focused on the future of how we live — and how we might live better, together.

Gannon Lifestyle Communities
The Gannon’s know a real community can’t be manufactured; it has to be nurtured. One of the first differences you’ll discover that distinguishes a Gannon Built Retirement Estate from most other retirement villages around Australia, is that it is being built by a family rather than a big development company, organisation or charity. The Gannon family has built a solid reputation over the last 25 years for building some of the most successful retirement estates in this country. Tom and Michael Gannon are involved every step of the way and create their estates based on simple family values and respect for the people who will live there. Gannon History The Gannon family began developing retirement estates in the late 1980’s. Originally from regional NSW work in the construction industry had seen them move across the country, finally settling in Adelaide. The movement of the family across many regional towns in NSW, Vic and SA would provide a detailed knowledge that would become invaluable in the development of regional retirement estates. Tom snr and Mavis Gannon were amongst the pioneers in the development of modern retirement estates. The first development was Vermont Retirement Estate, located in Adelaide south western suburbs. Today it is part of the LendLease portfolio, but a review of the Estate’s features shows that our model and business strategy was very much realised from this first development.
