Hornsey Housing Trust
Hornsey Housing Trust provides affordable housing and support services in the London Borough of Haringey that enable older people to live full, independent lives in the community of their choice. Our aim is to meet the current and future needs of older and vulnerable people in Haringey by providing quality homes, excellent, value for money services and placing tenants at the centre of everything we do. We provide both housing and some level of support to a wide variety of people of different ages and from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds, mostly in the Hornsey, Crouch End, Tottenham and Highgate areas of the borough. The Trust was established to support old age pensioners and we have retained our specialism of housing older people: the current minimum age at which someone can be allocated a Hornsey Housing Trust home is 45 and the average age of a Trust resident is 70. A third of our housing stock consists of sheltered housing, offering scheme-based accommodation with on-site support staff and additional services to our more vulnerable residents.

The Ferry Project
Established in 1998, Ferry Project is an award-winning social enterprise and registered charity that helps homeless people in Fenland. The aim of Ferry Project is not simply to provide accommodation, but to give people the skills they need to enable them to live independently. These include life skills such as cooking and cleaning, education courses, vocational training, volunteering and employment opportunities. We currently provide up to eighty-eight bed spaces in Wisbech and engage with over three hundred clients per year. We are the largest provider for homelessness-related issues in the district, engaging with an estimated eighty percent of those who find themselves homeless in Fenland. Our clients include people with financial problems, people fleeing domestic violence, people recovering from a family breakdown or from drug and alcohol abuse, young people leaving the care system, those who have been sexually abused, ex-offenders and those with simply nowhere else to go. Counselling and basic skills training are performed at the project’s headquarters, Octavia View, with additional educational courses provided at the Queen Mary Centre in Wisbech.
