This export-oriented sector is represented by the Association consisting members from 85 Jute spinning mills. The Association is represented on various Advisory Councils/ Committee under different Ministries and Departments of jute, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Association is dynamic, vibrant and up-to-date entity providing relevant and useful information and other service to it’s members comprising the leading entrepreneurs and manufacturers of Jute Yarn & Twine. The member mills produce a wide variety of jute Yarn and twine from the world’s best quality raw jute, meeting the international quality requirements. Generally, export products are used for Carpet Weaving (Wilton & AX Minister Carpet), Wall Covering Jute Webbing, Fabrics for shopping Bags, Caps, Handicrafts, Jute cloth for various uses like Canvas, Decorative Fabrics, Laminated cloth, Safety Fuse for Explosive and etc. The total production capacity of this sector is around 9, M. Tons per annum. This industrial sector employs about personnel, exporting nearly 100% of it’s products, and is one of the largest foreign exchange earners in the private jute sector of Bangladesh. The Jute Spinning Sector covers almost 68% of national export of jute goods in quantity (M. ton).
