Global Partnership
The Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (the Global Partnership) is the primary multi-stakeholder vehicle for driving development effectiveness, to "maximize the effectiveness of all forms of co-operation for development for the shared benefits of people, planet, prosperity and peace." It brings together governments, bilateral and multilateral organizations, civil society, the private sector and representatives from parliaments and trade unions among others, who are committed to strengthening the effectiveness of their partnerships for development. It supports practical implementation of effective development co-operation principles, promotes mutual accountability, and works to sustain political momentum for more effective co-operation and partnerships. The Global Partnership's monitoring exercise and report is a flagship instrument of the Partnership that provides a critical snapshot of progress toward more effective development cooperation in this effort of the Partnership. Formally constituted in 2012, the Global Partnership is today led by four Co-chairs representing the main stakeholders involved in development co-operation, including governments and non-State actors. Its work is driven by a 25-member Steering Committee, reflecting the spirit of inclusive partnerships and a ‘whole-of-society’ approach which is required to achieve the 2030 Agenda. As part of its efforts to sustain political momentum around development effectiveness, the Partnership regularly convenes at high/Ministerial-level. Since the Busan Partnership Agreement (endorsed by 161 countries and 56 international organizations in 2011), the Partnership has also adopted the Mexico Communique (2014) the Nairobi Outcome Document (2016, a negotiated outcome, like the Busan Agreement), the Co-Chair’s Statement on the Senior-Level Meeting (2019) and the Geneva Summit Declaration (2022).

Project Aladdin Projet Aladin
Project Aladdin is an independent, international non-governmental organization based in Paris and launched under the patronage of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in March 2009. It has since been supported by more than intellectuals, academics and public figures from over 50 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America. Project Aladdin's goal is to promote greater mutual knowledge among peoples of different cultures and religions, particularly Jews and Muslims, in order to bring about changes in attitudes and perceptions and develop a culture of peace and tolerance. Such changes will ultimately come about through a long-term strategy focusing on education and diffusion of knowledge. To meet the challenges of overcoming deeply-imbedded misperceptions and mutual mistrust in a politically-charged environment, we have developed a strategy that combines concrete, measurable educational and cultural projects (translations, syllabus development, distance-learning courses, educator training, summer school programs.) with public events (conferences, exhibitions, visits to memorial sites). An international network of academics, civil society activists and educators provides the organization with essential feedback on the impact of projects. The twenty personalities on the Board of Project Aladdin are from different countries, cultures and religions, and are united in the belief that the power of knowledge and education and the primacy of history and moral values can vanquish the chasms created by ignorance, prejudice, hate and competing memories. A number of world leaders and international bodies, such as the European Union, have also declared their backing for the project. The unprecedented level of support it has received from Muslims and non-Muslims alike provides Aladdin with an opportunity to contribute to conflict resolution, with particular focus on the younger generations.

Sdsn Europe
Following the announcement in December 2020 on the occasion of the release of the 2020 Europe Sustainable Development Report, SDSN has launched SDSN Europe to mobilize and coordinate the knowledge and science across SDSN networks in support of a sustainable and resilient European Recovery. In addition to the European Green Deal, which had already put the EU in a strong leadership position on sustainable development, the EU has recently approved the Recovery and Resilience Fund. Together, these initiatives create a window of opportunity to push forward the implementation of the SDGs and the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2050. In order to take advantage of these EU initiatives and enhance SDSN’s contribution to the work on sustainable development across the continent, SDSN has invited three leaders from the region to help coordinate SDSN’s work in Europe. Adolf Kloke-Lesch (SDSN Germany), Angelo Riccaboni (SDSN Mediterranean) and Phoebe Koundouri (SDSN Greece) have graciously accepted to play this coordination role as European SDSN Chairs. Under their leadership, SDSN Europe will act as a coordination instrument for our networks and members to catalyze actions on issues related to European policy. The group will help streamline our research and policy advice efforts and will facilitate our dialogue with the EU institutions. With ten national and regional networks of universities and knowledge institutions in the EU, and over 360 member organizations across the entire continent, SDSN is ideally placed to provide evidence-based policy development in Europe. Building on SDSN’s work on the Six Transformations, ESDR, Business of Food and FABLE, SDSN Europe will place emphasis on the European Green Deal, national Recovery and Resilience Plans of the Member States, Sustainable Food Systems, as well as other thematic areas that will be co-designed with the European Networks.
