Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture, also known as the Horticulture Innovation Lab, is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), as part of the U.S. Presidential Feed the Future global hunger and food security initiative program, based at the University of California, Davis. The Horticulture Innovation Lab’s global research network partners with and promotes local leadership to advance horticulture and social innovations, empowering small-scale producers to earn more income while better nourishing their communities. Our work is locally led, with four Regional Hubs spread across three continents, bringing together key stakeholders for horticultural development activities in the focus-regions of East and West Africa, Central America and South Asia. The four Regional Hub management teams are based at universities and educational institutions, including International Centre for Evaluation and Development in Nairobi; University of Ghana in Accra; the Panamerican Agricultural School, Zamorano, in Tegucigalpa; and FORWARD Nepal in Kathmandu. Regional Hubs conduct research, build networks, and serve as contacts for local organizations and USAID Missions, responsible for in-country management of projects and Principal Investigator (PI) support. East African Model United Nations East Africa Model United Nations (EAMUN) was started in 1982. It is one of the only MUNs to hold its conference in official United Nations territory and allows students who attend to further immerse themselves into the world of the United Nations. Behind the Slogan The slogan for EAMUN is "Building leadership for tomorrow" which is exactly what we do. MUN helps students gain self confidence, public speaking skills and a vast knowledge of current global issues all of which are attributes of the modern day leader. Support Tremendous support for both the MSMUN and EAMUN programs is offered by the staff at the UN headquarters in Gigiri, Kenya. This support together with the growing popularity of both of these programs has provided the resources to continue to build up the program and maximise the experiences of all our delegates. The Cities Investment Facility (CIF) is an innovative, multi-stakeholder initiative centered around unlocking investment in urban infrastructure projects in low- and middle-income markets that have traditionally struggled with project preparation and bankability. Aml-Cft Escay Project
The “Anti Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism in Eastern, Southern, Central Africa and Yemen” (AML-CFT ESCAY) regional project aims to curb the incidence of transnational organised crimes and terrorism in 33 African countries, and Yemen. The project will achieve this by improving national response capacities and inter regional cooperation in targeting Illicit Financial Flows generated by transnational organised crimes. Over the next two years, this action’s support will be offered through training, workshops, conferences and through limited tailor made activities designed to meet specific demands and needs of beneficiary countries. This project is funded by the European Union, and implemented by CIVIPOL. This project is a third follow up phase of two previous EU-funded projects. With a new funding of €5 million from the European Union, the AML-CFT ESCAY Project will build and expand on the achievements of the previous two projects, both in scope and objectives. This project will be implemented in collaboration with various main National Institutions from each participating Country, and the Private Sector – including Banks, Money Transfer agencies, the Civil Society, and many more. We will also coordinate with various International Organisations and, when appropriate, build synergies, for example, by developing joint-activities and training with other players active in disrupting Illicit Financial Flows in the region.
