Isla Internships Abroad
Isla provides internships abroad as well as study tour opportunities for students in collaboration with our partner communities and organizations in Bulgaria, Kosovo, Spain, India, and Uganda. Isla Internships build upon the organizational capacity-building work of our local partner organizations in developing countries by placing university undergraduates, graduate students, and entry-level professionals in career-launching global development internships. Isla immerses participants in substantive projects with non-governmental organizations, social enterprises, and other institutions working in one or more of the following sectors or career fields: Agriculture & Permaculture Arts, Culture, & Social Impact Business & Entrepreneurship Democracy & Governance Education Environment & Wildlife Conservation Global Health & Medicine Youth & Sports Isla participants gain on-the-job training and improve their skills while helping their host organization's capacity to serve their beneficiaries and communities and improve operations and outcomes. Placing talented people inside purposeful partner organizations, Isla hopes to create opportunities for greater global understanding, cooperation, and community service. The primary and overarching objective of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Kosovo is the eradication of poverty in the context of sustainable development, including the pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals, and promotion of United Nations fundamental principles. The core dimension in our approach is investing in human development, wealth creation (with emphasis on issues such as entrepreneurship, job creation) and institutional reform and capacity development. The empowerment of women is key to all development and gender equality is a core part of all policy strategies. The MDG agenda and the economic, social and environmental dimensions of development include many development activities from democratic governance, economic and social reforms, conflict prevention, social justice, promotion of access to public services, the environment and sustainable management of natural resources, pro-poor economic growth, trade development, gender equality and social inclusion.United Nations Development Programme - Kosovo addresses the challenges and helps through three practice areas: Democratic Governance, Inclusive Growth and Policy Research, Gender and Communication.

EULEX’s mission is to support selected Kosovo rule of law institutions on their path towards increased effectiveness, sustainability, multi-ethnicity and accountability, free from political interference and in full compliance with international human rights standards and best European practices. Within EULEX’s current mandate, which covers the period until 14 June 2025, the Mission undertakes monitoring activities and has limited executive functions.
