The simulation resources consist of 9 simulator bridges, engine room simulators, VTS simulator, DP simulator and radio simulator. We can offer training on Consilium, Furuno, Wärtsilä, Transas and Sperry Marine bridges in our simulator. With the simulator interface we have developed we can generate technical faults to the real navigational instruments on the bridges.

Port Of Raahe
The Port of Raahe is one of Finland’s busiest ports. This is thanks to its scheduled routes to other European countries, including the UK, those on the Mediterranean Sea and in the Baltic region, its excellent land connections, and its certified and customer-oriented service. Approximately 600 vessels call at the Port of Raahe every year. The port has been a hub for year-round maritime transport for over 40 years. Marine And Arctic Technology At Aalto University
The core ideas of our research are to ensure safety, to enable sustainability through advanced solutions and to focus on the first principles of applied mechanics (e.g. hydrodynamics and structures), statistical methods and systems engineering. Our marine technology research investigates the responses and strength of ships in a complex physical environment where ice- and wave-induced loads are present. We also investigate the system-level issues at the scales of shipping systems and fleets as well as individual ships and their subsystems. The focus is on passenger and ice-going ships and on autonomous ships. In arctic marine technology, we study the behaviour of ships and structures in ice. Arctic marine research focuses on ice loads on ships and structures, on ship performance and on ship safety. The group studies these topics by conducting extensive full-scale trials onboard ice-going ships, by utilising the Aalto Ice Tank and by developing theoretical models for e.g. ice load stochasticity and ultimate strength of structures.

Zer Emission
A race agains sea pollution A love of the sea is at the heart of what we do. Sailors live from and for the sea. The water we drink comes from the ocean, only filtered by the desalinating water maker. We keep our trash bags sealed inside the boat and shower in the rain. Our vulnerability to the natural elements is total. That is why we go out there. But one of the things we’re suffering the most from is not natural. Rather, it's the opposite. We’ve seen plastic bottles, styrofoam, plastic bags, Crocs, and balloons, pretty much everything including a garden table. The pollution in our sea is pretty unreal and tragic. The zer°emission project works to inspire sailors, race fans, our partners and race host cities to join us in our quest for cleaner seas. We will work with each of our race host cities throughout 2019-2020 program striving to impact, influence and change views on marine sustainability during our stay and over the media.
