GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION – 2013 BASIC SEAMANSHIP COURSE The Pacific Maritime Training College (PMTC) in the National Capital District is presently conducting Basic Seamanship Courses and other intermediate training programs will be made available later within the next 12 months. The PMTC is a newly established private maritime training institution aimed specially to provide affordable short-course seamanship training for seaman deck ratings (refer to the application form for general entry requirements). This new sea training institution provides affordable training solutions through the conduct of basic seamanship courses for general capacity building and seagoing skills training development designed to be undertaken by various stakeholder groups: deck ratings, inexperienced boat owners and operators with no formal certifications (i.e. former/current seaman with expired SOLAS qualifications), or other interested persons wanting to learn new skills and pursue a career in the merchant shipping service in future. Further to the information provided in the application form, the following fees apply for all applicants: 1. Basic Seamanship 4 Weeks K 800:00 2. Basic Safety On board 2 Weeks K1,600:00 3. Total K2,400:00
