Art Museum Versi
Art Museum VERSI, the first museum in South Korea specializing in Outsider Art, opened in 2015. As part of Yongin Psychiatric Hospital’s vision, VERSI has become a cultural hub for diverse communities, including self-taught artists and those from culturally underserved backgrounds. With barrier-free facilities, diverse exhibition halls, and artist studios, the museum prioritizes accessibility while presenting Outsider Art along with other contemporary arts. Through exhibitions, residencies, and competitions, the museum fosters emerging Outsider artists, promoting it as a vital and inspiring part of the contemporary art scene. Gallery VERSI and Art Room VERSI extend this mission into everyday life and activities. Established in 2022, the gallery bridges contemporary artists and the public, encouraging artworks to be collected and imbued into our daily lives beyond the exclusive art market. Art Room VERSI complements this by offering creative educational programs for all ages – exploratory art education for children, family printmaking workshops, and immersive experiences for adults. Together, these spaces nurture artistic discovery, safeguard the philosophy of Outsider Art, and further diversify the Korean art landscape.
