City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) is an internationally celebrated symphony orchestra, at home in Birmingham. A family of incredible musicians, led by Music Director Kazuki Yamada, proud to make exciting musical experiences that matter to the people of Birmingham, the West Midlands and beyond. Resident at Symphony Hall, the orchestra’s musicians perform over 150 concerts each year in Birmingham, the UK and around the world, with music that ranges from classics to contemporary, soundtracks to symphonies, and everything in between. With a far-reaching community and education programme, a ground-breaking partnership with Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, and a family of choruses and youth ensembles, it is involved in every aspect of music-making in the Midlands – and has been for more than 100 years. This longstanding tradition started with the orchestra’s very first symphonic concert in 1920 – conducted by Sir Edward Elgar. Ever since then, through war, recessions, social change and civic renewal, the CBSO has been proudly ‘Birmingham’s orchestra’. Under principal conductors including Adrian Boult, George Weldon, Andrzej Panufnik and Louis Frémaux, the CBSO won an artistic reputation that spread far beyond the Midlands. But it was when it discovered the young British conductor Simon Rattle in 1980 that the CBSO became internationally famous – and showed how the arts can help give a new sense of direction to a whole city. Rattle’s successors, Sakari Oramo, Andris Nelsons and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, helped cement that global reputation and continued to build on the CBSO’s tradition of flying the flag for Birmingham. Under the dynamic leadership of Music Director Kazuki Yamada and Chief Executive Emma Stenning, the orchestra continues to celebrate the joy of music and of Birmingham through creating unmissable and unforgettable musical experiences for all. The CBSO is supported by its principal funders Arts Council England and SCC.

Cooking Vinyl
Cooking Vinyl is a UK based independent record company, founded in 1986 by former manager and booking agent Martin Goldschmidt and business partner Pete Lawrence. Goldschmidt remains the current owner and chairman while Rob Collins holds the position of managing director. Established in 1986, Cooking Vinyl has developed a reputation as one of Europe’s most innovative independent labels, inspiring an enviable loyalty among its artist roster in the process. Key to the company’s longevity is its emphasis on artist-driven deals with its pioneering introduction of bespoke services-only contracts that claim no stake in artists’ copyrights. As for recent years, 2015 and 2016 were remarkable for the label, described by Uncut magazine “a template for modern independent record companies”. After topping the charts in 2015 with The Prodigy’s “The Day is My Enemy”, this feat was repeated in 2016 with the global success of Passenger’s “Young as the Morning Old as the Sea”. Both records qualified for a silver disc in the UK. This same year, Richard Ashcroft reached the UK top 3 with “These People”, his first album in six years. The Fratellis, The View, Reverend & The Makers, Turin Brakes, The Cult, Billy Bragg & Joe Henry, Feeder, Area 11, The Rifles and Seth Lakeman also reached the UK top 40, thus fulfilling the entry criteria for the BRIT Awards 2017 “Album of the Year” category. In these years, Cooking Vinyl Australia notched up a number 1 album with Parkway Drive, and top 5 entries with City and Colour and Kate Miller-Heidke. Together with a highly creditable #31 in the Billboard 200 in 2016 with the latest album by The Dillinger Escape Plan for the newly established Cooking Vinyl America branch in New York, it all adds up to a true champagne years for the West London indie. Cooking Vinyl Records is a member of the CV Group, which also includes, CV America, CV Australia and CV Publishing.

Aligning professionalism and business acumen with an understanding of youth and subculture, we run industry-led events, artist development and employment support programmes. Those that have come through our doors can now be found working at institutions including Island Records, Nike, Rinse FM, GRM Daily, Beats and SBTV. Artists we have helped and showcased at early stages of their career include Wretch32, Little Simz, Ghetts, Andreya Triana, Maverick Sabre, Devlin, Labrinth, Skepta and Paigey Cakey. Since when UD was co-founded by a group of hip-hop artists, we have understood that young people need the resources and space to create and explore their potential; UD works for a world where young people who make and love Black Music, are recognised as equal to any excellent creative individuals, and are celebrated and supported as such. Whether they’re on their first steps into music, just breaking into notoriously competitive creative environments, or about to make it big, we provide the tools they need: Excellence, confidence, structure, opportunity and networks. United in development, UD stands for you.

Discreetly nestled in central London, the Hall has a capacity of 552 seats but draws in audiences from far and wide through its enterprising use of digital media and its ambitious Learning programme. Wigmore Hall’s reach goes beyond concert audiences and includes schools, nurseries, hospitals, community centres and care homes. The latest development also hailed a new era of international access to some of its many recitals and events through live streaming, enabling more people than ever to experience some of the variety of its concert programme and Learning events. The Hall also enjoys a fruitful relationship with BBC Radio 3, with regular live broadcasts on the station. Since 2005, the Hall has grown attendance across its entire programme by over 60 per cent. All in all, it now presents around 500 concerts and 500 Learning events every year, selling a total of tickets. Academy Of St Martin In The Fields
The Academy of St Martin in the Fields believes creative empowerment improves lives. Through the creative freedom of its musicians it shares joyful, inspiring performances and delivers meaningful social impact. The Academy of St Martin in the Fields is one of the world’s finest chamber orchestras, renowned for fresh, brilliant interpretations of the world’s greatest orchestral music. Founded in 1958 by Sir Neville Marriner, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields has evolved into a musical powerhouse, an orchestra renowned across the world for its commitment to the musical freedom of its players and the sharing of joyful, inspiring performances. Today, with Music Director Joshua Bell, ASMF’s player-led approach empowers every member of the orchestra. This creates a direct line and electrifying connection between the orchestra and our audiences, resulting in ambitious and collaborative performances that transcend the more traditional conductor-led model. Beyond the concert hall, our commitment to a social purpose manifests in impactful projects that harness the power of music to empower people. We have a longstanding history of work which connects with people experiencing homelessness, and our education projects develop autonomy and creativity among emerging musicians worldwide. Air Studios
AIR Studios began its long and prestigious history in 1969 when George Martin left EMI to establish an independent recording complex in the heart of central London. It became one of the most successful studio operations in the world. Construction of a sister studio, on the Caribbean island of Montserrat, began in the mid 1970's attracting major artists from around the globe. Sadly, Hurricane Hugo devastated the island in 1989, and the studio was forced to close. However, 1991 heralded the beginning of a new AIR Studios located in the beautiful Lyndhurst Hall in London. A site of significant architectural and historical interest, Lyndhurst Hall occupies a prominent corner position in the quiet suburb of Hampstead and is classified as a Grade II* listed building. Originally a church and missionary school Lyndhurst Hall was designed in 1880 by the great Victorian architect Alfred Waterhouse (designer of the Natural History Museum). Heavily involved in the design and building of the new studio facility, Sir George Martin opened AIR Lyndhurst in December 1992 with a gala performance of "Under Milk Wood" in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales.
