Philharmonie Luxembourg Luxembourg Philharmonic

Behind the name «Etablissement public Salle de Concerts Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte» are two entities with two different histories: the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg founded in 1933 and the Philharmonie Luxembourg, a concert venue opened in 2005. In January 2012 the two institutions merged both artistically and administratively. The Philharmonie has succeeded, in a very short space of time, in establishing itself as a much-loved venue for music-making and listening – both in Luxembourg and internationally. This success owes much to its exceptional architecture by Christian de Portzamparc and its impressive acoustics by Albert Xu. Wide-ranging musical diversity and an uncompromising attitude to artistic quality are the guidelines for programming at the Philharmonie which hosts some 400 concerts and events every year in various genres, such as classical music, jazz, world music, contemporary music and children's concerts. The acoustics of its residence, its long-standing relationships with other prestigious halls and festivals as well as its close collaboration with first-rate musical personalities have contributed to making the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg an orchestra renowned for the elegance of its sonority. Its standing has been confirmed by an impressive list of prizes awarded for some twenty CDs, including a Grammy Award with Angélique Kidjo and Gast Waltzing.

The Fondation EME organises cultural and musical events and acts for the dignity and inclusion of all, fighting against barriers to access to culture. Orchestre De Chambre Du Luxembourg

Fondé en 1974, l’Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg (OCL) est l’une des formations musicales les plus actives et les plus innovantes du Grand-Duché. Composé d’une quarantaine de musiciens en recherche permanente de la plus haute excellence artistique, il défend le riche répertoire pour orchestre de chambre, allant du baroque à la création contemporaine. Au cours de la dernière décennie, l’OCL s’est développé sous la direction de personnalités telles que David Reiland et Jean Muller. Depuis 2020, il est placé sous la direction musicale de Corinna Niemeyer. Orchestre à fort ancrage local, l’OCL se produit sur toutes les grandes scènes luxembourgeoises : Philharmonie, Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg, Cercle Cité, Centres Culturels Régionaux, Escher Theater, Rockhal… Également tourné vers l’international, l’OCL est invité à se produire dans la Grande Région et au-delà. Citons à ce titre ses nombreuses collaborations avec l’Opéra-Théâtre de Metz et, pour la saison 2022/23, ses débuts à l’Opéra Comique de Paris dans L’Inondation de Francesco Filidei. La passion toujours renouvelée de cet orchestre pour le dialogue entre les arts et les genres le conduit vers de nombreux projets pluridisciplinaires et originaux, qu’ils soient musicaux, lyriques ou chorégraphiques. La création de spectacles avec le Ballet de l’Opéra-Théâtre de Metz, le chœur de l’Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, le Spellbound Contemporary Ballet, le Luxembourg Collective of Dance ou encore Nomad the Group, illustrent la diversité de ses collaborations artistiques. Constitué de musiciens fortement investis dans la transmission de leur passion auprès des jeunes, l’OCL contribue à promouvoir l’excellence de l’enseignement musical dans le pays. L’OCL remercie le Ministère de la Culture et la Ville de Luxembourg pour leur soutien. L´Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg est placé sous le Haut Patronage de Son Altesse Royale le Grand-Duc Héritier.

Born in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, Pawentaore had a childhood bathed in music. After several moves between Burkina Faso and Belgium, his parents settled in the Belgian capital, Brussels. And that's where Pawentaore got to know music. He first tried his hand at piano, bass, guitar and drums. Then learn piano, musical harmony and solfège at the music academy. He also studied at the SAE institute, a prestigious school for sound engineers. After his studies, he started working as a sound engineer and album producer. In the meantime he is also starting out as a singer. Its musical universe has no limit, so it is very difficult to put it into a musical movement. It is clear that musical instruments have a big place in his music. It is not uncommon to hear on several of his pieces a lot of time tuned to instrument solos. Pawentaore is a regular on the scene.

The members of the Solistes Européens, Luxembourg are musicians from the best orchestras of Europe who have been meeting regularly in Luxembourg for almost 35 years for concerts and recordings.
