Gramo

Gramo is the joint collection society in Norway for musicians, performing artists and phonogram producers. Gramo manages and administers the right of performers and producers to receive remuneration when recorded music is played on the airways or in other public arenas. Gramo collects remuneration from radio stations, cafes, hotels, shops and other users of recorded music in public arenas, and distributes these to all who participated in the recordings. In addition to its members, Gramo also represents all other rights holders who have participated in recordings that are protected under the Copyright Act. Gramo was established as an Association on 7th June 1989 as a result of Section 45b of the Copyright Act that afforded performing artists and producers the right to receive remuneration from the use of their recordings. From and including 1.1.90 the said right encompassed use in broadcasting on the airways and from 1.7.2001 this was extended to include other public use (in cafes, shops, hotels and so forth). The founders of Gramo were the organisations Norsk Musikerforbund, Norsk Tonekunstnersamfund, Norsk Skuespillerforbund, Skuespillerforeningen av 1978, FONO and IFPI Norge. The Board of Gramo is made up of representatives of rights organisation representing performing artists and producers.The Ministry of Culture has authorised Gramo as the joint collecting society in Norway. International Remuneration rights in Norway have their basis in the International Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organizations signed in Rome in October 1961, and has since then also been regulated through EU Directives. The right to receive remuneration applies in almost all European countries and almost universally globally. Gramo co-operates with other equivalent organisations in Europe, and participates in working groups and international fora where remuneration arrangements are on the agenda.

Tons Of Rock Festival

Tons of Rock has been the major annual gathering for the rock and metal audience in Norway since the beginning in 2014. In 2023 the festival gathered over visitors over 4 days making it one of the biggest music festivals in Norway. During the first 5 years the festival took place at Fredriksten Fortress in Halden, Norway. In 2019 the festival decided to move to the bigger Ekebergsletta in Oslo, showcasing the biggest hardrock- and metal artists in the world including Iron Maiden, KISS, Black Sabbath, Slayer and Ozzy Osbourne, Volbeat, Def Leppard, Ghost, Alice Cooper, Behemoth, In Flames, Megadeth, Helloween and many more.

TONO gir tillatelse til bruk av beskyttet musikk for eksempel på radio, TV, internett, konsert og kino mot betaling, og overfører hvert år sitt økonomiske resultat til rettighetshavere i musikk som har blitt spilt offentlig. TONO hadde ved utgangen av 2022 39 090 medlemmer, men arbeider også for millioner av opphavere og musikkforlag fra verden for øvrig. TONOs samfunnsrolle er todelt gjennom på den ene siden å samle og forenkle lisensiering av beskyttet musikk og på den andre å gi musikkskapere et økonomisk grunnlag for å kunne skape nye musikkverk. TONO omsatte i 2022 for kr 864,6 millioner.

Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester

Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester har status som nasjonalorkester og kan som et av verdens eldste orkestre føre sin historie helt tilbake til 1765. Edvard Grieg var nær knyttet til orkesteret, og var i årene 1880-82 orkesterets kunstneriske leder. Nå er Edward Gardner sjefdirigent, og Sir Mark Elder er orkesterets første gjestedirigent. Orkesteret teller 101 musikere og feiret sitt 250-års jubileum i 2015. Orkesteret nyter høy internasjonal anseelse takket være turneer, innspillinger, strømmetjenesten Bergenphilive og internasjonale bestillingsverk. I 2020 ble orkesteret nominert til Gramophone Orchestra of the Year, og i 2021 ble innspillingen av Brittens Peter Grimes kåret til både Gramophone Opera Recording of the Year og Recording of the Year, uavhengig av sjanger.

Stavanger Symphony Orchestra

SSO performs and has its concerts in the Fartein Valen in Stavanger concert hall which is considered one of the best concert halls in Europe. Andris Poga is SSO’s Chief Conductor. Tianyi Lu is the orchestra’s current Conductor-in-Residence. Recent guest conductors have included Karina Canellakis, Pablo Heras-Casado, James Gaffigan, Stanislav Kochanovsky, Dalia Stasevska and Vassily Sinaisky. Frans Brüggen was the SSO’s Artistic Director for early music from 1990-1997; Philippe Herreweghe had the same position from to 2004 and Fabio Biondi from 2006 to 2016. Ever since then, the SSO has continued to work regularly with exponents of historical performance practice including Kristian Bezuidenhout, Andrea Marcon, Jan Willem de Vriend, Matthew Halls, Ottavio Dantone, Riccardo Minasi, among others. The orchestra has a recording label of its own; besides, it has recorded lots of Scandinavian music for BIS, as well as baroque music with Fabio Biondi for Naïve and other record companies. It has been touring in various European countries, Japan and the USA. SSO was nominated for Spellemann in 2018 for Gisle Kverndock’s Symphonic Dances and recieved two Hedda Awards i 2019, hence Best Performance, for The Mute. The orchestra was founded in 1938 and consists of 85 musicians from 23 different nations.

Oslo-Filharmonien

Indie Recordings

Indie Recordings was founded in 2005 by Erik and Espen Røhne as a side project of Indie Distribution. In 2006 Erlend Gjerde joined Indie Recordings and Indie Distribution and together they developed the label from being a "hobby project", into one of the leading independent record labels in Scandinavia, releasing gold-record status albums with bands like Kvelertak and Satyricon. Indie Recordings have mainly focused on developing Norwegian acts like Fight The Fight, 1349, Kvelertak, Satyricon, Enslaved, God Seed, Keep Of kalessin, Wardruna, Djerv, Oslo Ess ++. But, talent knows no borders and lately the label has gone on to sign several foreign successful acts like Cult Of Luna and Adimiron and promising acts like Belgian Steak and The Erkonauts from Switzerland. Having the opportunity to work with such fine musicians is a great inspiration to us, and has motivated us to put all our efforts into creating a label we are very proud of. Every day we stay true to the cause: Bringing out to you our favorite rock and metal music! Now we finally have a new webstore to bring our catalogue to everyone. Horns up!

Kongsberg Jazzfestival

Kongsberg Jazzfestival er Norges ledende festival innen nyskapende jazz. Festivalen har holdt på siden 1964 og arrangeres hvert år i uke 27. Rockefeller is a music- and entertainment complex in downtown Oslo. It consists of three venues. Rockefeller Music Hall (capacity: 1350) and John DEE Live Club & Pub, which includes John DEE (capacity: 400) and the Pub (Puben)(capacity: 120), are located at Torggata 16. Det Norske Solistkor The Norwegian Soloists Choir

The Norwegian Soloists´ Choir is one of Scandinavia´s foremost chamber choirs and one of Norway´s most eminent ensembles in any genre. The choir is equally at home in the classical/ romantic repertoire and in contemporary music, making regular excursions into folk-derived music and National Romantic works. The Norwegian Soloists´ Choir was founded in 1950 by the composer Knut Nystedt, who was its conductor for forty years. In 1990 he was succeeded by Grete Pedersen, who remains the choir´s Artistic Director to this day. The choir comprises 26 highly trained singers, all potential soloists in various genres as well as fully embracing the art of ensemble singing. In recent years the choir has collaborated with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, RIAS Kammerchor, Oslo Sinfonietta, Cikada, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, the Trondheim Soloists and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra among others. The choir has an extensive CD catalogue, and the latest five recordings released on BIS Records AB are all internationally acclaimed. In 2012 the choir was awarded "Performers of the year" by the Norwegian Society of Composers.

Established in 2021, the collective has hosted regular club nights and iconic forest gatherings in the forests around Oslo. The label has distinguished itself as a fast growing player in the electronic music scene, and has since its inception released music by artists from around Europe and North America.

Musikk i Nordland (MiN) er en konsertprodusent og -leverandør med vekt på co-produksjon og utvikling av nye konsert- og forestillingsformer tilpasset behovene i fylket. Vi er opptatt av kvalitet og kunstnerisk fornyelse, og opptrer med ulike besetninger både med våre faste musikere og innleide aktører. Vårt eget ensemble, MiNensemblet, er et profilert klassisk kammerensemble med et bredt og spenstig repertoar. Gjennom Landsdelsmusikerordningen i Nord-Norge (LINN) bidrar de til å gi et bredt tilbud hvor målsettingen er å skape «Store opplevelser på små steder». Musikk i Nordland er en del av seksjonen Kulturutvikling i Nordland fylkeskommune.

Oslo Jazz Festival

Annual international jazz festival in Oslo, Norway. The festival takes place in August (week 33) and presents approx. 70 concerts at 16 - 18 venues in the centre of Oslo and reaches an audience of around 70 people. The festival is Oslo's longest running festival and presents jazz and related genres.

Oslo Sinfonietta Og Cikada

Oslo Sinfonietta og Cikada er landets eldste og mest fremtredende samtidsmusikkensembler, og har siden midten av 80-tallet vært kjernen og navet i norsk samtidsmusikkmiljø. Oslo Sinfonietta består av frilansmusikere og medlemmer fra noen av landets mest fremtredende orkestre, som Oslo-Filharmonien, Kringkastingsorkesteret, Operaorkesteret og Det Norske Kammerorkester. Dette gir ensemblet den kvalitet og fleksibilitet et moderne repertoar forutsetter. Cikada har siden begynnelsen bestått av fløyte, klarinett, piano, slagverk, strykekvintett og dirigent, og alle ti medlemmer er likestilte, faste medlemmer. Ensemblet knyttes sterkt til den såkalte Oslo Sound med sine friske, energiske, varme og virtuose tolkninger av et bevisst utvalgt repertoar. Oslo Sinfonietta og Cikada er hovedarenaer for nålevende norske komponister, og den viktigste plattformen i Norge for utvikling og produksjon av nyskrevet musikk.
