MEC fosters a great environment for the joy of musical learning and progression, Auckland wide. From the North Shore to Central City and West Auckland!" Philosophy - A student need not show special talent in order to be eligible for music-making - Certainly everyone has the capability to make music- Everyone should have the opportunity to learn music- Excellence for a child is determined by the improvement in ability and skills of the child and how excellently we are developing that ability not how excellently he is playing the piece. History The Music Education Centre was formed in 1980, as the North Shore Music Education Centre and has since developed into MEC, providing comprehensive music education, across Auckland. Onemusic New Zealand
Businesses who play music, like cafés, bars and restaurants, shops, hairdressers, gyms, dance schools, offices, on hold music, and more, need permission (a licence) from the music creators. In 2013, APRA AMCOS and Recorded Music NZ established OneMusic New Zealand. The OneMusic joint licensing initiative simplifies the licensing process for businesses, by offering single OneMusic licence agreements on behalf of APRA AMCOS and Recorded Music NZ. OneMusic represents the rights to play essentially all commercially released music from anywhere around the world. When you hear about music royalties, that’s what we do. Many music creators around the world earn an income by granting organisations, like ours, the right to collect and pay their royalties. After minimal administration costs all money collected is paid to our local and international music creators – songwriters, composers, publishers, recording artists and record labels. OneMusic licences allow music users to meet their copyright obligations to play our music in their business. We’ve done the hard work for you. Instead of you having to contact and get permission from every songwriter, composer, publisher, recording artist and record label, for every single song you play – you get a licence with us.

Bremner Music Ltd
Manufacturer of practice mutes for brass instruments-sshhmutes. Needing to practice at odd times and in odd places over the years, award winning cornetist Trevor Bremner saw a need for an effective practice mute priced to suit budding musicians and professionals alike. After several years of research the sshhmute is now in commercial production, resulting in the bst practice mute ever, out performing anything available on the market today. An advantage of the sshhmute design is the very small amount of back pressure it creates. This allows for better air supply, while still opening and developing the throat muscles. The mute remains in tune and accurate throughout the entire range.

The Crescendo Trust Of Aotearoa
The Crescendo Trust of Aotearoa (CTOA) is a mentorship program, working with young people from around Tāmaki Makaurau. Using music, film and photography, we connect with young people between the ages of 12-24, and help them build confidence, learn new skills and make industry connections. Since the trust’s inception in 2012 we have changed the lives of thousands of students. Whether helping artists like Church and AP or Disciple Pati to get their start in the industry, or simply giving a young person a space to express themselves during a difficult time in their lives, we are committed to making positive change in the lives of the rangatahi and the communities we work in. Our mentors use their years of industry experience, to guide students to grow as artists, and to find opportunities in employment and further education. Each student is unique, with this in mind we offer a range of teaching models. All young people get one-on-one time with mentors, and we also run group classes such as Rap School, where students learn the rudiments of writing and recording hip hop tracks. We work with youth from all backgrounds, and our students come to the trust through various channels including; community groups, local schools, alternative education providers, walk-ins and Oranga Tamariki. All CTOA hubs are drug and alcohol free, safe spaces where people feel comfortable to be themselves and work on their craft. At CTOA we create a whānau environment, with many of our students going on to become apprentices at the Trust. We offer professional development for all our staff and students, with a focus on wellbeing. We also help students to book performances, at both a corporate and local level, and we make sure they are paid fairly for their time and talents. Where possible we also employ CTOA students to design posters, run our social media and set up and run the shows themselves.

37 Hz
The dynamic range of human emotion from minor to major” 37 Hz Limited is the legal framework for creative industry practitioners Anonymouz aka Faiumu Matthew Salapu and wife Noma Sio-Faiumu. With over 30 years of combined industry experience, they produce and co-produce using the mediums of music, sound, video and live productions - productions and projects which serve to engage, entertain, inform and educate. Of Pacific descent and both raised in the Pacific capital, South Auckland, Aotearoa, it’s important that their indigenous and cultural affiliations are woven into the process and creation of all the projects they’re involved with, as authentically and organically as possible. Hertz (Hz) is the scientific measurement for sound frequencies/vibrations. 37 Hz is the vibrational difference between a middle E flat (622 Hz) and middle E (659 Hz), which is the musical sounding difference between a ‘sad’ sounding “C Minor” chord and a ‘happy’ sounding “C Major” chord, thus their company is named after this dynamic range of human emotion.
