Tehelka brings hallmark edginess to its stories across politics, environment, literature and lifestyle. In recent times, more than any other publication, Tehelka has come to embody truth, courage and conscience in the Indian public space. Tehelka is a magazine that believes journalism has a critical duty in a free society, Tehelka has broken stories that impact our daily lives – buying out of Zaheera Sheikh, the Jessica Lall murder, Nithari killings, the international pedophilia racket in Goa, subversion of justice for the 1984 Sikh riot victims, the 2002 Gujarat carnage and now was the first Indian media to enter the LeT headquarters in Muridke, Pakistan. The fastest growing English weekly news-magazine in India, it has very quickly established an enviable reputation — national and international — for the quality of its reportage, the eminence of its writers and the refinement of its analyses and ideas. Alongside, it has created a strong space for the voices of the underprivileged; and consistently married lively opinion with good writing and a social conscience.

Jansatta
