Background: Glimmer of hope is a voluntary, non-profit organization specialized in ensuring the rights of people with visual impairments in Sudan that established in June 2010. The focus is on the priority of their right to education, as a basis for the creation of an independent, confident, qualified, competitive, and productive generation of visually impaired people in Sudan. In addition, we aim to challenge negative perceptions within the community towards people with visual impairments to create a conscious and effective society that directs its energies to serve them. According to the 2008 national census there is more than visually impaired above 6 years in Northern Sudan (after South Sudan separation) and 75% of them never attended any official education. Our mission: To play a qualitative leading role and to provide a model for improving and developing the education of visually impaired people in Sudan by ensuring their right to education. Our strategic goals: 1. Contribute to providing accurate statistical information on visually impaired people. Work on developing and improving education for visually impaired people. Work on raising community awareness of visually impaired people. Work on providing sustained support to the organization to increase its performance.

Vet-Care Organization (VCO) is a Sudanese non-governmental organization, non-political, non-ethnic, non-religion and not-for-profit organization; with independent legal entity established in accordance with the Humanitarian and Voluntary Work Act. VCO was founded in 2003 by a group of Sudanese professionals who worked in rural development projects (Sudan Village Concept projects I & II) while they were University students. VCO aims at empowering rural communities to enable them improve their livelihood and food security and that through helping them develop their organizational and technical capabilities and support them with technical inputs and link them with relevant resources and markets.
