Health Equity International Formerly Sbhf
Health Equity International has been providing essential health and support services to those in need for more than 40 years. Our work has three core components: St. Boniface Hospital, our healthcare facility in southern Haiti, is the largest care provider for over 2 million people in the region and serves as a model health system for the entire country. Our dozens of clinical programs are designed to meet and evolve with our patients’ needs. Here, medical professionals at every level of their careers come to learn and expand their skills. And our community health program and satellite clinic ensure that people living in the mountainous areas around St. Boniface Hospital can access the care they need. Our health system strengthening projects, designed and implemented in partnership with the Haitian Ministry of Health, bring our model of care to more people in more places. We’re sharing what we’ve learned with dozens of healthcare facilities and other nonprofit organizations across Haiti’s southern peninsula and providing healthcare workers with the training and technical support they need to deliver high-quality care. Our shelter and stabilization project, begun in 2024, provides critical shelter and stabilization services to dozens of unhoused migrant families in Massachusetts. We work in accompaniment with each family to design a rehousing and stabilization plan that meets their unique needs and helps them achieve self-sufficiency and independence. Through compassionate, dignified, and culturally competent services, casework, and community support, we are helping our clients build the future they want for themselves. At HEI, we believe that everyone deserves the right to be well. Together with our global network of partners and supporters, we’re creating a safer, healthier world for all.

Haiti Outreach
Haiti Outreach, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit NGO based in Minnesota in the U.S. and Pignon, Haiti, that works with communities in Haiti on a range of issues from water to education and other projects. Our vision is for Haiti to become a developed country, with abundant clean water, sanitation, food, medical care, infrastructure like roads and electricity, educational and job opportunities, for all. Unlike most NGO's operating in Haiti, we are not a relief organization. We are interested in long term, sustainable development. We help the communities and the government to build and sustain these projects, mostly clean water projects in rural areas where they drink contaminated river water, with our training program for management responsibility. We also include sanitation education in this training. We operate using a 4-point community development model for long term sustainability to ensure that the projects will last over a long period of time. • The request for assistance comes from the community and not from us; we don’t tell them what they need; they tell us. • They must organize, with our assistance, and participate in all levels of planning. • The group responsible for the project must be a cross-section of the community, and the project must benefit the entire community. • There must be an economically viable maintenance plan established and managed by the community. How are we different? Our work is based on a grassroots effort involving community responsibility, participation and ownership. This is unlike many well-intentioned “development” projects that lack this economic sustainability element and end up creating a dependency. We have 20 staff in Haiti, all but one of which are Haitian citizens. We currently have a small staff of 4 in the U.S. to fundraise and administer.

Lambi Fund Of Haiti
The Lambi Fund of Haiti takes its lead from the peasant and women's organizations with which we collaborate. The Lambi Fund is based on the premise that the Haitian people understand how development is best achieved in their country. Therefore, the Lambi Fund follows the lead of grassroots organizations in program and priorities. The Lambi Fund never dictates to a community organization what should be done. Through discussion and reflection, the peasants decide what is best for their community and present the project to the Lambi Fund for support. Program Areas The Lambi Fund focuses its funding in five main project areas: Sustainable Development — Sustainable agricultural projects help increase food security and income for peasant families. Many of these projects benefit women, who bear more of the burden in the agricultural economy. Community Micro-credit — Members of a community organization band together to form collective micro-enterprise funds to provide one another with much needed capital to start self-sustaining community projects. Animal Husbandry — In rural Haiti, wealth is measured in pigs and goats. For years, as conditions worsened in Haiti, the number of pigs and goats dwindled. Thanks to the self-sufficient projects run by grassroots groups, pig and goat breeding is again on the rise and contributing to the economic development of rural communities. Environment — The conservation of Haiti’s waning natural resources is central to all Lambi Fund projects. Community cisterns and irrigation systems help communities secure safe and efficient water supplies while community reforestation projects curb deforestation – the most rapid in the Western Hemisphere. Organizational and Leadership Training — Alongside our routine technical and management training programs, Lambi Fund provides organizational and leadership development training programs for peasant organizations and women’s associations.

Sprint To Cite Soleil
Cite Soleil is known to be one of the poorest and most dangerous cities in the entire world. Everyday, thousands of kids living in the region wake up unaware of when or where their next meal will come from, and unfortunately some of these same kids won’t have a place to call home. This type of poverty often prohibits children, teens and young adults from what is important such as family, community, school, athletics, arts and just simply being a kid. With nowhere else to turn, many kids and young adults join gangs. By providing kids a positive path and give them an optimistic outlook of the future, we can promote the important aspects in life. Sprint to Cite Soleil is a basketball program that works alongside the community of Cite Soleil, Haiti to inspire, empower, and create peace. Joseph Sadrack, a Cite Soleil peace prize winner and basketball president, is our in-country director and insures the program is running smoothly in Haiti. The 160 kids enrolled into the Sprint to Cite Soleil basketball program (boys and girls grades 1-12) practice every weekend in a school courtyard and are trained by 10 fabulous coaches. The kids enrolled in the program receive clean water every practice and once a week are served a homemade meal prepared by the 4 outstanding cooks we have hired. Although founded on the idea of basketball, Sprint to Cite Soleil is a social movement that stretches across the entire community of Cite Soleil, having established partnerships with multiple orphanages, hospitals, non-profits and more!

Parole Et Action
Founded in 1986 by Eris Labady, Parole et Action came to light to empower people living in rural areas in Haiti. Most of these rural regions are unreached by most NGOs, have no local government presence or facility and infrastructures. In some of these regions, children walk more than three hours a day before reaching a school or hospital or church. Indeed, thousands of children and millions of communities members lack access to education, food, water, and relevant infrastructures. Devastated by seeing people living in such horrific condition, Pastor Eris then came with that vision and found Parole et Action to impact these people. More than 30 years after, our mission and vision remain the same. We go to vulnerable communities to invest and impact people. Now, we are working with 37 communities in the South, West, Center, and Artibonites departments to educate young leaders for community development. We have been able to support 37 schools and impact more than 10 children annually with quality education, health assistance, food and clean water. We also run programs like Child Advocacy & Policy Influencing, Livelihood, Health, Sponsorship, and Emergency Relief. We are changing lives through relevant assistance to the most needed. Wouldn’t you like to do the same?

Our work has been supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and The US Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) since 2009. In 2013 Caris was asked by USAID/PEPFAR to develop a comprehensive plan for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) affected by HIV. The Program was called “BEST” Bien et Santé Timoun, which translated means ‘child’s wellbeing and health’, and this project has since transitioned into Impact Youth, also supported by USAID, which continues the same work. In 2017, Caris began work on Project Santé - the USAID-supported health services delivery program to encourage excellence in the health system across the country. Partnering with the Haitian Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), Santé focuses on strengthening the package of essential services at 164 clinical sites in all ten Departments of the country. Fondation Rose Et Blanc Freb
Created in Haiti, about 21 years ago, when several other organizations and foundations were also created without making big changes to the unfortunate situation of misery of the Haitian people, this social movement comes from an initiative of Sophia Martelly with her husband Michel and their kids. In September 2008, this family initiative became a foundation and is called « Fondation Rose et Blanc (FREB) ». Since then, it has established contacts with governmental entities, NGO’s and other private institutions in order to combine efforts to improve the social, sanitarian and economic conditions of Haitians. FREB, since its creation, has been able to intervene in many departments of the country bringing support and accompaniment to the most disadvantaged. Seeing the impact made by FREB, over the years various caring people and institutions backed up this initiative which primarily aims to help those in need.
