Bedem Energy Solutions
BEDEM Energy Solutions was established in 2007 in Pancevo under the name BEDEM Prevoz by three successful local entrepreneurs. Their initial idea was to develop a taxi company with all vehicles fueled on CNG and focused on outstanding customer service. Since CNG vehicles had significantly lower fuel costs than competitors' vehicles powered by gasoline and diesel engines, the company achieved almost immediate success. Very soon the company built its first gas station in order to secure supplying CNG to their taxi fleet, but also to supply all other CNG fueled vehicles. In time, the owners realized that CNG prospects in Serbian market are much greater than initially thought. More specifically, a lot of prospective large CNG consumers (e.g. the production facilities, hospitals, heating plants, and other big industrial consumers) who needed low-cost energy source were not located anywhere near the gas pipeline. This was perceived as a great business opportunity. Therefore, the owners decided to make a related diversification by starting to build a virtual pipeline. In other words, the company started transporting CNG by delivery trucks to locations not served by natural gas distribution pipelines. Since then, the number of both large and small CNG consumers has been growing steadily. As a result, the company expanded its operations into Bosnia & Herzegovina by building a new gas station in Zvornik. The specifics of this location provided leverage in terms of logistics and infrastructure in the local market and led to acquisition of new large CNG consumers located in Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Today, BEDEM Energy Solutions is going even further. It provides comprehensive energy solutions by designing and implementing CNG savings projects, retrofitting, CNG infrastructure outsourcing, and CNG supply. The Oil Refinery Belgrade is the oldest and largest company in Serbia for producing lubricants and anti-corrosion agents that are obtained from oil derivatives. The Oil Refinery Belgrade is the only one in this part of Europe with a plant for re-refining waste oils. The plant was constructed in 1978, with French technology, which enables it to secure by itself a part of its basic raw materials for the production of lubricating oils.
