Im Frühjahr 1972 wurde TAP Telion-Air-Pac gegründet und avancierte rasch zu einem Vorreiter in der Produktion von Luftpolster-Versandtaschen. Die Betriebsgrundstücke in Braunschweig erstreckten sich über m2, wovon ca. m2 bebaut waren. Ein Meilenstein war 1991 die Einführung automatischer Verpackungslinien – ein hoher Grad an Automatisierung, einzigartig in der Branche. 1992 brachte TAP eine bahnbrechende Innovation auf den Markt: Als erster Hersteller produzierten sie LP Taschen ohne Medium zwischen Papier und Luftpolsterfolie, was Recyclingfähigkeit verbesserte. Im März 1994 errichtete TAP in Braunschweig eine Produktionsstätte für Luftpolsterfolie, die später erweitert wurde. 1998 übernahm Fagerdala TAP und verkaufte es 2006 an ProtecPac, seitdem ein stolzes Mitglied der ProtecPac-Familie. 2009 ging TAP in Ivex Protective Packaging Inc. über, was neue Impulse brachte. 2011 investierte TAP in coextrudierte Luftpolsterfolie und blieb Branchenvorreiter. 2013 erfolgte die vollautomatisierte Produktion der Luftpolsterfolie, steigerte Effizienz und Kundenzufriedenheit. 2016 übernahm Airpack S.p.A. TAP, versprach spannende Synergien und festigte die Position. 2019 wurde TAP Mitglied der Abriso-Jiffy-Gruppe, einem Zusammenschluss führender Schutzspezialisten.
