Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC) was created by an Act of Parliament in 1981. Mandated to provide Social Protection and shelter for Gambians, SSHFC schemes (Federated Pension Scheme, National Provident Fund and Injuries Compensation Fund) are established to provide retirement benefits to quasi-government and private institutions. SSHFC supports individuals to prepare for their retirement years by paying into a pension pot or setting aside savings. We provide workers with protection against loss of income due to injury or ill-health. We are also engaged in the provision of affordable housing to the citizenry, completing over housing units over the last 38 years. This makes SSHFC the largest estate developer in the Gambia.
