Since its inception in 1987, Béjart Ballet Lausanne is a reference in the choreographic world. Chosen as his successor by Maurice Béjart, Gil Roman is leading the company and preserving its artistic excellence, since the disappearance of the master in 2007. Maurice Béjart always wanted to open the world of the ballet to a larger audience. Animated by the same spirit, Gil Roman and his dancers perform all over the world for great events or official receptions, as well as events to the profit of charity events. Béjart Ballet Lausanne is one of the very few companies able to fill vast spaces such as the NHK Hall of Tokyo, the Kremlin State Palace of Moscow, Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, the Palais des congrès de Paris, Forest National in Brussels or the Patinoire de Malley-Lausanne. Since 2007, with his search and work for contemporary creation, Gil Roman maintains and develops the repertoire of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne. The work of Maurice Béjart is at the heart of this repertoire, with emblematic choreographies, as The Rite of Spring, Boléro, The Ninth Symphony or Ballet for Life but Gil Roman also wants to present the variety of this repertoire, with Piaf or The Magic Flute for example. Choreographer for 20 years, the artistic director also nourished the repertoire with his own creations. Choreographers like Alonzo King, Tony Fabre, Christophe Garcia, Giorgio Madia or Julio Arozarena also contributed to the creative development of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne. In the early nineties, after twelve years working as an artists’ agent, Martin T:son Engstroem had an ambitious idea: to create a summer festival in the heart of the Swiss Alps, far from the major cities where most festivals take place. Verbier had the intimate atmosphere he felt was necessary to encourage musical excellence, and at the same time be open to the world. He imagined a festival with a resident youth orchestra and an academy where renowned artists would teach the next generation and audiences would have a wide choice of activities from early morning until late at night. In 1994, his vision became a reality.

ROTES VELO is a company that collaborates with artists of different disciplines, that thinks across genres and questions traditional performance practice. They are raising the awareness of the young and the old, of culture enthusiasts or greenhorns for performing art in all its diversity. Each creation is understood as a new opportunity to offer a glimpse at the contradictions that make us human. From its inception their on going practice has been based on devising frameworks for collaboration, investigation and discovery of innovative ways to blur the borders between Dance, Music and Theatre. As an example, the 40 minute long documentary film “Dance in the golden age” was the company’s first attempt to use cinema as language. ROTES VELO is an emerging performing arts company founded in 2011 in Switzerland under the direction of Exequiel Barreras, Emilio H. Díaz Abregú and Hella Immler. They realise at least one production per year and their shows brought ROTES VELO to Argentina, through Liechtenstein, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Poland and of course across Switzerland. So far more than fifty artists from seventeen different countries, ranging from dancers and musicians to actors, have collaborated with the company contributing in the creation of artwork that always aims at conveying critical and conceptual ideas in an accessible, even entertaining way. In 2016 ROTES VELO was granted an award by the city of St. Gallen in recognition for its „constant development of demanding and high-quality projects”. Both positive reactions from the audience and generous support from foundations and culture promoters have been motivating factors to keep on expanding the scope of the company. Always aiming for the exchange and mutual stimulation on a cultural level, the company organizes and offers in addition to the performances, dance training, workshops and projects - like the permanent work with a group of elderly people.

Fondazione Claudia Lombardi Per Il Teatro

La Fondazione Claudia Lombardi per il teatro nasce nel 2016 dal desiderio della fondatrice di dare una forma concreta alla sua passione per il teatro, per la drammaturgia contemporanea e il lavoro con i giovani. Essa sostiene la crescita artistica di giovani talenti e, nella sua sede a Lugano-Figino, dove si è trasferita nel 2018, organizza eventi culturali e spettacoli teatrali. E' infatti tra le storiche mura di un edificio risalente alla fine del XIX secolo che è iniziato un nuovo capitolo di questa storia: con una prima sistemazione degli spazi è stata creata una piccola sala di teatro (con 60 posti) e una sala prove di 44 mq dove è stato possibile organizzare i primi eventi e le prime residenze. Da allora è passata un po' di acqua sotto i ponti e a oggi la Fondazione, che non produce né co-produce spettacoli, ha realizzato numeri significativi: 335 artisti sono andati in scena nei nostri spazi; 146 compagnie ci hanno fatto emozionare; 93 eventi ci hanno regalato momenti indimenticabili; 3050 spettatori hanno applaudito con noi; 6 bandi testinscena hanno sostenuto nuovi talenti; 47 residenze artistiche hanno offerto un tempo e un luogo di creazione; 61 atelier hanno visto nascere idee e progetti d'arte; e molti altri ancora troveranno da noi chi li ascolta, li incoraggia, li sostiene e li aiuta a spiccare il volo. Tutto questo è possibile grazie in primo luogo al sostegno dei soci dell'Associazione Amici di Càsoro, dei nostri sponsor e donatori istituzionali e privati. L'obiettivo dichiarato della Fondazione è di creare un luogo che diventi un riferimento per gli artisti e per la nuova drammaturgia a livello regionale, nazionale e insubrico. L'essere umano ha bisogno di nutrirsi anche di cultura e bellezza per vivere in modo equilibrato e noi vogliamo contribuire al benessere psicofisico di quante più persone possibile nel nostro raggio d'azione. Schweizer Jugend-Sinfonie-Orchester Sjso

Das Schweizer Jugend-Sinfonie-Orchester ist ein Orchester der besonderen Art: Aus allen vier Landesteilen der Schweiz kommen bis zu hundert junge Musikerinnen und Musiker im Alter zwischen 15 und 25 Jahren zusammen und führen unter der Leitung international bekannter Dirigent*innen anspruchsvolle Werke aus allen Epochen der klassischen Musik auf. In den Proben und bei den Konzertauftritten machen die talentierten Jugendlichen wichtige Erfahrungen im Orchesterspiel, die den weiteren Verlauf ihrer Musikerlaufbahn entscheidend prägen. So sind viele der ehemaligen SJSO-Mitglieder heute in renommierten Berufsorchestern engagiert. Aufgrund der Mehrsprachigkeit werden auch Brücken zwischen den einzelnen Kulturkreisen der Schweiz geschlagen. Das Schweizer Jugend-Sinfonie-Orchester vermag während der Frühjahrs- und Herbsttournee mit jeweils sechs bis sieben Konzerten in der ganzen Schweiz das Publikum immer wieder aufs Neue in seinen Bann zu ziehen und die Medien zu begeistern. Die finanzielle Unterstützung von Bund, Kantonen, Gemeinden, Unternehmen, privaten Stiftungen und der Förderergesellschaft machen diese ausserordentliche Plattform für Musikerinnen und Musiker möglich. Durch diese Nachwuchsförderung im Bereich der Klassischen Musik leistet das SJSO einen wichtigen Beitrag im schweizerischen Kultur- und Bildungswesen.

Xocolat is a non-profit association for the mobility of creativity, based in Fribourg, Switzerland. Xocolat promotes artists, encounters and working dynamics in order to nurture creative endeavours to reverberate through the social weaving. Xocolat was formed in 2017 on the basis of the involvement of its founding members in the local, national and international arts scene. Xocolat’s activities have been supported both regionally and nationally in Switzerland, through artistic and scientific funds, and through the local community where it acts.

The United Nations Orchestra, founded in 2011 by conductor Antoine Marguier, is becoming the Orchestre des Nations. The Orchestre des Nations brings together high-level amateur musicians. Originating from all continents, they all pursued musical studies before moving towards different career paths. In 2019, Orchestre des Nations became a foundation. The creation of the Orchestre des Nations Foundation will give the orchestra the means to reach its goals. The musical direction of the Orchestre des Nations will continue to be led by Antoine Marguier, and the honorary presidency will still be held by Mr Michael Møller, director general of the United Nations Office in Geneva.

Run by artist for artist, the studio is dedicated to creative digital technologies from the perspective of the performing arts and movement, establishing itself as a creative hub for local and international artists. Equiped with 42 high end optical motion capture cameras by Qualisys mocap systems, Studio 44 MocapLab is recognized for its high-quality equipment and expertise in quality of movement for motion capture.
