Rise Above Foundation Cebu
Since November we have been working as volunteers in Cebu City, Philippines. Our team is striving to help improve the quality of life for the poor and underprivileged by means of providing educational opportunities, livelihood training, and health and hygiene programs. We connect and cooperate with volunteers from all over the world and help facilitate their work and accommodations in Cebu. We establish contact with schools and institutions for students in our internship program, and organize “dental missions” to treat the poor in “Free Clinics”. Dentists and dental hygienists from several western countries participate in our projects to provide treatment as well as oral education for poor children and adolescents. Our vision is to give people a chance to lead better lives through education and training. You can help make that dream a reality through financial contributions or to work as a volunteer.

Effective Altruism Blue
Effective Altruism Blue is a university group for Ateneans interested in effective altruism (EA) – a philosophy and global movement of people who strive to improve the world as effectively as possible through the use of evidence and reason. Since our founding in 2019, we have endeavored to be an avenue for students to discover effective altruism, explore its implications, and start practicing its principles together with a community that fosters healthy criticism and growth. Through our larger discussion events and smaller one-on-one conversations, we encourage our members to consider a variety of contemporary problems and reflect on how they can harness their own skills and resources towards countering those problems, while acknowledging uncertainties.

Philippine American Guardian Association Paga
The Philippine American Guardian Association, Inc.(PAGA) serves the needs of Filipino Amerasian children and their families. PAGA, with headquarters in Metro Manila, Philippines, is licensed to operate as a social welfare agency implementing community-based programs for children, youth and family by the Department of Social Welfare and Development and accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) as a donee institution. PAGA operates with a lean organization of trained and skilled social workers and office staff. Our active Board of Trustees works on a voluntary basis and guides the organization. Our funding comes from membership dues, recurring and one-time donations, and trust funds. PAGA has a huge opportunity to expand the scope of its services to other locations in outlying provinces, contingent on the ability to raise additional funds. We are constantly seeking support from the community for our efforts to improve the situations of our beneficiaries, and to grow the number of beneficiaries served.
