Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM), or the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, is a professional organization incorporated under the Chemists Act 1975 on 1st November 1977 and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI). IKM was earlier inaugurated on 8th April 1967 with 27 founding members and subsequently registered under the Societies Act 1966 on 13th October 1967. IKM has grown in tandem with the rapid development of Malaysia to become a well-established and strong professional organization recognized both locally and internationally. Membership of IKM comes from both the manufacturing and service sectors, universities and other institutions of higher learning, research and development institutions, and government and education sectors. With membership of more than 5,500 in March 2023, IKM enjoys a prominent place among the professional scientific organization in Malaysia. The Institute is also playing a leading role in the development of chemistry in Malaysia.

Green Building Index

In August 2008, PAM Council endorsed and approved the formation of the new Sustainability Committee who was tasked primarily to develop and set-up the Green Building Index and the accompanying Panel for certification and accreditation of Green-rated buildings. In addition, Greenbuildingindex Sdn Bhd was incorporated in February 2009, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PAM and the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM), to administrate GBI accreditation and training of GBI Facilitators and Certifiers. Achieving points in these targeted areas will mean that the building will likely be more environment-friendly than those that do not address the issues. Under the GBI assessment framework, points will also be awarded for achieving and incorporating environment-friendly features which are above current industry practice. Board Of Counsellors Malaysia

Pada Oktober 1993 Jemaah Menteri telah meluluskan penubuhan Majlis Kaunseling Kebangsaan (MKK). Majlis Kaunseling Kebangsaan telah dipengerusikan oleh Y.B Menteri Perpaduan Negara dan Pembangunan Masyarakat ketika itu dan diuruskan secara pentadbiran. Fokus Majlis Kaunseling Kebangsaan terbahagi kepada tiga tugas utama iaitu menilai keperluan perkhidmatan kaunseling, menentukan definisi dan standard kelayakan serta peringkat-peringkat kaunseling yang di tetapkan dan diiktiraf serta menyediakan kod etika perkhidmatan kaunseling. Majlis Kaunseling Kebangsaan juga telah memutuskan agar Rang Undang-Undang Kaunselor digubal dan hasilnya satu Rang Undang-Undang Kaunselor telah dibentangkan pada 13 Ogos 1996 di Mesyuarat Majlis Kaunseling Kebangsaan. Rang Undang-Undang Kaunselor ini kemudiannya telah mendapat persetujuan Diraja pada 4 Mac 1998 dan diwartakan pada 19 Mac 1998 atas nama Akta Kaunselor 1998 (Akta 580). Akta ini memberikan kuasa secara sah ke atas pengawalseliaan perkhidmatan kaunselor serta semua aktiviti berkaitan kaunseling di Malaysia. Lembaga Kaunselor diketuai oleh seorang Presiden dan dianggotai oleh 15 orang ahli yang dilantik mengikut peruntukan di bawah Seksyen 13(1) Akta Kaunselor 1998 (Akta 580). Pentadbiran Lembaga Kaunselor telah diletakkan di bawah Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat setelah penyusunan semula kabinet pada tahun 2004. Unit ini diketuai oleh seorang Pendaftar di bawah Unit Pengurusan Lembaga Kaunselor. Lembaga Kaunselor bertanggungjawab terhadap semua urusan berhubung penguatkuasaan Akta Kaunselor 1998 (Akta 580) dan merupakan satu mekanisme pelaksanaan perkara-perkara yang berhubung dengan akta tersebut bagi mengawal dan membangunkan tahap profesionalisme kaunselor dan perkhidmatan kaunseling di negara ini.
