We are a registered Institution (REG No. TRN-9PS6AK) under the Trustees Incorporation Act of 2025 of the Malawi Government. Recognizing the growing burden of infectious diseases in urban settings, a group of researchers with expertise in Epidemiology, Mathematics, Public Health and other related disciplines came together in 2022 to establish CEMAR (Centre for Epidemiological and Mathematical Research). The founders of CEMAR led by Nicholas Siame Adam shared a vision of harnessing the power of data-driven research to address the unique challenges of urban malaria transmission and to develop targeted strategies for disease prevention and control. CEMAR affiliates itself to Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHES) and collaborates with modelers within Malawi, the Africa region and beyond. CEMAR believes that improved surveillance systems and contact tracing are cost-effective remedies of avoiding outbreaks using advancements in large-language modelling.

Palliative Care Support Trust
Palliative Care Support Trust (PCST), established in 2005 under the Trustees Act, is dedicated to supporting, developing, and promoting the delivery of palliative care services at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) and in the surrounding communities. Since its inception, PCST has worked to ensure that individuals facing life-limiting illnesses receive compassionate and comprehensive care. In line with its mandate, PCST actively supports two key palliative care clinics within QECH: Tiyanjane Clinic, which caters to adults, and Umodzi Clinic, which provides care for children. While PCST was officially incorporated in 2005, these two clinics have been operational since 2001, serving the community with critical palliative care services. Since 2010, PCST has taken on the administrative responsibility for managing and ensuring the effective delivery of services at both clinics, enhancing the scope and reach of care. The two clinics—Tiyanjane and Umodzi—are vital components of the broader palliative care network within QECH, and PCST continues to lead efforts in improving access to quality palliative care services for both adults and children in the region.
