Aid To The Church In Need Ireland
Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) is a Pontifical Foundation dependent on the Congregation for the Clergy in Rome in conformity with the provisions of Canon Law. ACN has over 60 years of service to the Church in need. Werenfried van Straaten, the Dutch Norbertine priest whom Pope John Paul II named ‘an outstanding apostle of charity’, founded ACN back in 1947. ACN receives no public or official Church funding, relying solely on the generosity of individual benefactors. ACN has national fundraising offices in 17 different countries and has over individual benefactors. Despite the varied names from country to country, it is one organisation with one international head office (ACN-International Head Office). On average, ACN annually supports more than projects from over 130 countries. ACN helps the Church so that the Church can help others.

Roman Catholic Congregation of the Sacred Hearts SS.CC. works in both Ireland and England. Our province/sector is part of a worldwide congregation consisting of priests, brothers, sisters and lay associates. Not to be confused with other congregations of a similar name, the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts (plural) was founded in 1800 in Paris France. Its charism is based around the contemplation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus echoed in the heart of Mary his mother. In the Irish English Province we have communities in London, Dublin and the borders areas of Cavan and Monaghan involved in pastoral apostolates including parishes, schools, hospices and retreat work. Our SS.CC. sisters are part of a Northern European sector or region and also have connections with France, Belgium and the Netherlands. One of our best known members is the recently canonised St Damien the leper priest of Molokai who selflessly gave his life to working with the outcasts of his time. Today the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts continue to contemplate live and proclaim God's compassionate love in today's society

Praxis Movement
Praxis is a collaborative and relational network of individuals, communities, and churches driven by the desire to see God’s kingdom come as we reimagine mission for ordinary people. Praxis began as an idea which grew into a collaboration of missional leaders from churches and faith communities around Dublin. We found ourselves wrestling with the desire for our communities to engage the unique missional challenges facing the people of God in Ireland. Challenges which resemble challenges faced in other places but are still unique to our island. We began to realise that there many on the island who want to be involved in the work of God here might benefit from a collaborative community or collaborative space to begin reimagining mission for ordinary people. As we seek to examine the context of Ireland as a place of mission, engagement and love we want to enable everyday people to step out in faith and take risks for the kingdom. We seek to share ideas, explore the theological reflections and tell the stories of ordinary yet brave Irish Christians who are searching and finding God on the frontier of mission. We want to elevate Jesus in His people, free and at work in this complex and wonderful place.

The Oblates
About the Oblates: “Profoundly respecting the dignity and sacredness of each person, we seek to grow close to Christ and make him known through our way of life and ministry. We commit ourselves principally to those on the margins of church and society.” We are missionaries, a religious community founded by St Eugene de Mazenod in 1816 in France. We e are part of a global community of more than Oblate priests and brothers in more than 60 countries of the world. Oblates from Ireland and the UK are missionaries in Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, United States and Canada. The Oblates strive to seek out, befriend and respect as sisters and brothers, the abandoned poor with their many faces: weak, unemployed, illiterate, victims of addictions, sick, marginalized, immigrants, minorities – not only the materially poor, but also those who are poor in spirit, those who do not know the name of Jesus Christ. Our mission invites us to a team approach, to collaboration with laity and other religious communities, to formation of lay leaders who will serve the needs of others, to become a part of the lives of those of others, to be always close to the people.#alwaysclosetothepeople
