Yangon Kayin Baptist Women's Association Ykbwa
The Yangon Kayin Baptist Women's Association (YKBWA) was founded as a non-profit religious based organization in 1858 with its head quarter in Yangon. Today, the YKBWA has 321 churches in 21 townships with more than active members. The majority of the members (80%) live in rural areas and 20% live in urban areas. As one the main activities, the YKBWA provides trainings on leadership and livelihood skills through ZOE Training and Hope Vocational Training. YKBWA Day has been celebrated on 19th April every year. VISION & MISSION To support women’s physical and spiritual development in all aspects. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 1. Nurturing families and children spiritually to be good citizens for the kingdom of God. Providing skill and livelihood trainings, vocational trainings and awareness-raising trainings. Helping families’ income by providing microcredit scheme through micro-finance enterprises 4. Protecting and rehabilitating disadvantage women and domestic helpers. Representing the voice of women in families and communities through leadership trainings.
