Druk Green
Druk Green Power Corporation(Druk Green) was formed on January 1, 2008, through a merger of the erstwhile 336 MW Chhukha, 64 MW Basochhu and 60 MW Kurichhu Hydropower Corporations of the kingdom of Bhutan. The 1020 MW Tala Hydropower Authority was handed over to Druk Green in 2009. On formation, Druk Green was placed under the Druk Holding & Investments, the holding company of the Government owned corporations of Bhutan. Druk Green presently operates and maintains four hydropower plants. While DGPC operates and maintains huge hydropower assets, its other key mandate is to promote and develop new hydropower stations. DGPC is set to growfurther through the amalgamation of other projects and taking up of new projects on its own or through joint venture with private and public partners.
