Kuwala Energy is a Malawian last mile distribution business delivering affordable and reliable Solar Energy Home-systems (SHS) to off grid households in Malawi. With 89% of our country living away from the electricity grid the market for off-grid SHS is huge. The business is youth and women led with an immediate focus on Nkhata Bay District and a long term aim of expanding operations to the entire Northern Region. We have a range of products including 10W and 35W crystalline solar panel systems, 100 and 200 lumen LED bulbs, a solar radio, a 19inch Television with a FTA satellite receiver, multi cellphone charging cable, torch and a 3 AH and 12 AH LFP Batteries that can work for 8.5 hours without charge. We work across two payment models, a pay as you go system and a buying outright model. These options allow our customers to either work towards owning their electricity system over a course of 24 months or to buy it outright and enjoy limitless solar powered electricity.
