Welkom bij het Expertisecentrum Budget en Financieel Welzijn van Thomas More. We streven naar een samenleving die zo georganiseerd is dat alle burgers erbij horen en eraan kunnen bijdragen, nu en in de toekomst. Meat Technology And Science Of Protein-Rich Foods Mtsp
The research activities of the research group for Meat Technology & Science of Protein-rich Foods are focused on meat and other protein-rich foods. The research group therefore has a well-developed pilot facility and laboratory in which various groups of protein-rich food products can be prepared and analyzed under strictly controlled conditions. The Research Group carries out funded scientific research in numerous projects, often in collaboration with other research institutions and industrial partners from the meat industry, producers and suppliers of functional ingredients for the meat industry, and in the food industry in general. In addition, the Research Group is at the service of companies that have questions related to production and quality of protein-rich food products. The group has specific and extensive expertise in ingredients affecting texture and physical stability of meat products (such as proteins, hydrocolloids, gums, fibres, etc.).

Research Center Care In Connection
The Care in Connection Research Center is one of six research centers at Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Antwerp. It hosts lecturers and a multidisciplinary research team specializing in chronic care, sustainable careers, integrated care, perinatal care and health promotion. The center excels in practice-oriented, scientific research aimed at supporting and improving the position of healthcare professionals and the quality of care. Examples of specific projects include a smart diabetes assistant, guidance for healthcare workers dealing with pregnancy loss, prevention of sexual boundary violations, mental wellbeing among youth in vulnerable neighborhoods, grief support for caregivers, and retaining healthcare staff long-term. EAPRIL stands for European Association for Practitioner Research on Improving Learning (in education and professional practice). It is a non-profit organisation under Belgian law, governed by an Executive Board in cooperation with the EAPRIL office. ARGOS, the Antwerp Research Group for Ocular Science, was established in 2007 by Prof. Dr. Nadia Zakaria and has focused on regenerating the ocular surface, from corneal endothelium to conjunctival epithelium. Besides extensive preclinical research in these areas, we have translated a xenofree cultured limbal stem cell therapy to the clinic. Currently, we are treating patients in a multicentric phase II clinical trial with a stem cell product that is developed and produced in our own FAGG accredited clean rooms.

We bring lab innovations closer to the market through process development and product application testing in collaboration with universities and industry. A bit longer: Biocon is a unique scale-up facility to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable circular bio-economy. It bridges the gap between lab validation and commercialization by bringing emerging chemical technologies and carbon circularity solutions to the pilot scale. Currently the platform focuses on upscaling of the lignin-first biorefinery technology, which has been invented by researchers from the Center for Sustainable Catalysis and Engineering (CSCE). This new technology enables the efficient conversion of lignocellulosic biomass (wood, grasses, agro side streams) into high-value renewable carbon sources for the chemical industry. Biocon produces demonstrator product samples and provides them to (industrial) partners for a broad range of applications (e.g. aromatic polymers and additives, agrochemicals, specialty fibres, sustainable fuels). Operating from a brand new pilot facility at TRANSfarm, the platform will gradually be further extended with advanced pilot scale equipment for e.g. process intensification, downstream separations and product synthesis. BIOCON provides its unique infrastructure and knowhow as a reliable partner in industrial joint developments as well as in international multi-partner R&D projects.

Chaire Familles En Entreprises
Les entreprises familiales ont toujours et continuent de dessiner notre paysage économique et social. Leur résilience, leur performance sur le long terme, les valeurs qu’elles incarnent et transmettent, … en font un « bijou » particulier à observer. Il était tout naturel que l’ICHEC leur consacre une Chaire (un centre de Recherche, Sensibilisation, Formation et Réseautage) et ce à double titre. Tout d’abord, l’ICHEC était à l’origine une école de management dédiée aux fils d’industriels bruxellois. Ensuite parce que la probabilité est grande qu’un diplômé en management croise plusieurs fois dans son parcours professionnel des entreprises familiales. La Chaire « Familles en Entreprises » a pour mission d’observer et décrypter les évolutions des entreprises familiales, de sensibiliser à leur management spécifique, de conscientiser la « Next Gen » aux enjeux de la gestion d’une entreprise familiale, etc. Si vous êtes concerné(e) par une entreprise familiale, quelle que soit sa taille, son ancienneté, son secteur et quelle que soit votre position (dirigeant, « fils ou fille de », actionnaire,…), vous nous intéressez et nous pouvons vous aider à progresser! The European Association of Innovation Consultants (EAIC) gathers active Innovation Consultants in the field of European research and innovation projects. The group aims to facilitate exchange of experience and good practices among its members, as well as to promote professional skills and expertise in European RDI projects. EAIC was created as the R&I Days kicked-off in Brussels on the 24th of September, 2019: fifteen consultants in Innovation Management from six European countries gathered together to foster a discussion about common interests with a possibility of future collaborations and actions. EAIC became a legal entity registered under Belgium law in 2021. today we gather over 50 members repreenting over 5400+ consultants from accross Europe. Our vision: Become the recognised pan-European reference for professional, high-quality consulting services for R&I related funding programmes. We therefore developed a unique expertise in all aspects of EU law. The EU Legal Studies is an academic research and teaching department characterized by a strong commitment to both doctrinal and interdisciplinary research. It unites academics from economics, law and political science. It is also deeply rooted in legal practices and welcomes among its members practicing lawyers, in-house counsel and members of the Court of Justice of the EU (référendaire). Out of that interaction, numerous scientific collaborations take place, resulting in publications, conferences and seminars in Belgium and abroad.
